..."Highly detailed 3D world"? Compared to what, Star Fox 64?
God, I can't believe there was a time when I was excited for this game. HVS, their heart was in the right place, but really, they couldn't pull it off.
I don't care where or what it's on, I want to see Conduit 3 play out. That ending to 2 man.. (also lol @ downvotes)
Conduit will always make me feel both exited and a bit angry. It was more like a tech demo of what the Wii was really capable to do technically speaking.
Perhaps if HVS would have worked with someone else, they developed the tech and all the stuff but the art and design by other studio, then we maybe speaking about one of the great games for Wii and now for Tegra devises.
i still kind of wish nintendo chose tegra to power the 3ds, that would of been cool. oh and wasnt there was a conduit running on the 3ds? i guess they wasnt going to make it after all.
Doesn't the 3DS use a Tegra graphics chipset?
I bought into the hype of the first Conduit and needless to say it didnt live up to it. It had some good moments, but the game was bland and felt kinda generic. The Grinder actually had me hyped tho. I fully intended on getting that game as well but it vanished. HVS meant well but they failed. it was a good effort tho
Just out of curiosity, what's so bad about the 2nd game?
I really enjoyed the first, if only because it offered the Wii forum I was a member at a LOT of online gaming memories, but I never got around to playing the second game. I remember it getting a lot of bad reviews but I'd like to know why! Was it more of the same? Or was it more of the same and just did it worse? Or did it try something new and fail?
It makes me think of Epic Mickey 2 and 007 Legends, both titles following up the success of games that were really, love it or hate it experiences.
I haven't played Conduit 2 yet, but I heard the single-player campaign wasn't very good (voice-acting was different, too comedy almost). BUT, I did hear the online multiplayer was a lot better than the first, and the average hours played seems to back that up compared to the first. It appears Conduit 2 players put more time into the game (I would assume multiplayer), than The Conduit players did.
I loved both conduit , the first one to give finally wiimote pointer online fps , and the second one also for that and the local horde 4 players . Retrospectively , at the very least they didn't bother with the ultra assisted aim + shoot button of pretty much every single fps . A major plus in my book .
Now all i would want from them is either the grinder or conduit 3 , whichever could produce a 4players local online horde campaign . That would be so sweet . And i'm pretty sure no cod will do that any time soon .
uh ok... why would you downvote this?
Also the game was pretty good. Of course it was no masterpiece but it felt like a sort of updated 90s shooter and the visual aspect was really cool. The best thing about this game though is that it was not realistic and/or WW2 and the wiimote controls were just awesome.
I was wondering myself, but maybe because this isn't really Nintendo related news...but then again, we'll never know unless they can implement a "voting - explain why" option.
Also, it should be noted the source for this is actually:
http://www.tegrazone.com/games/conduit
This version of the game will be free/pay-to-play.
@coffeewithchess
Ah I see! Now that you mention it, I do remember hearing some bad things about the story. However, at the same time, I heard some vague details that seemed so whacky that I actually want to play it for myself in the near future
And I'm glad that it'll be free to try! If I'm able to I would love to give this a try. I highly doubt I'll buy the rest but that remains to be seen.
I know you like to knock dual analog every chance you get but dude what are you talking about? The Conduit had lock on. Which was completely unnecessary given how well the game controlled, not to mention orders of magnitude worse than aim assist. Do you realize that you could set the pointer to reset to center when the pointer is off the screen? Combined with lock on it was like having an aimbot. Talk about ultra assisted aim
uhhh Black Ops 2 zombies?
Not a bad game on the Wii but it would look terrible on the Wii U. They might have upscaled the resolution but, as far as I can see, they kept the same assets designed for a SD game. The new version should be fine for small screens though.
Wii U has proper FPS games now, it doesn't need one that plays like a bargain bin PC title. That said I think it suits the mediocrity that mobile gaming offers though even Gameloft's Halo rip off series shows more originality and style than this sorry series of titles.
I don't think this is HD as you guys are thinking of. HD is just a resolution, and it has been known phones could output it a while ago.
This does not mean that the game will have better models, textures, and graphics. Looking at the graphics, it actually looks like a downgrade.
You know, the Conduit series isn't half bad. If it was given higher production values for the campaign, it could of been amazing. I'm a bit afraid that going down this path will lead it to the land of no return.... oh well.
played a good bit of the first one online with some dudes here (wesfx) and never touched the second one, twas awesome at its time to be a real fps on the wii but that was probally the start of the good wii games now that i think back, sure we had to wait a bit between them but it was pretty good after conduit.
star wars is lame
darth vader is lamer
Good riddance, The Conduit was dreadful.
Yeah those environments look pretty outdated. I don't think anyone expected the game to get THAT big of an update though.
It was a rumor from an angry ex employee that the Conduit 2 didn't actually use Wii Motion +. HVS went on record saying that Conduit 2 absolutely did use Motion +, & explained that Nintendo would have never allowed them to claim support if the game didn't actually use it to benefit off screen aiming.
nice. The Conduit is lamer than both sadly
True, Darth Vader is rather lame.
Your Darth Vader gif is all sorts of awesome though ^_^
Wow. It's so ironic that a few years ago, you guys were all "CONDUIT 2! HELL YEAH!", and now when you look back, you see how mediocre the game really was.
