A portion of a GameBeat interview with Crytek's Cevat Yerli...
GamesBeat: Is the Wii U from Nintendo even on your radar as far as making games?
Yerli: We did have Crysis 3 running on the Wii U. We were very close to launching it. But there was a lack of business support between Nintendo and EA on that. Since we as a company couldn’t launch on the Wii U ourselves — we don’t have a publishing license — Crysis 3 on Wii U had to die.

Well that's messed up...
"It had to die" - Going a bit over the top there.
Isn't this like really old news
It's EA. They're a bunch of drama queens.
I like how everyone is acting like it couldn't have possibly been Nintendo's fault that they couldn't reach and agreement.
@Battlestriker123
It is Peter Moore, he drove Sega into the ground and now he is trying to do it to Nintendo.
Yes, it's all Nintendo's fault they were thinking of the customer and didn't want to subject us to EA's horrible online infrastructure. How dare they!
Guys why do you even care? The game s*cks anyway.
Though it could have potentially made more graphics whores buy the console and ultimately expand the install base.
But as far as I'm concerned, I say keep it.
@thorn-rock
the game isn't that bad. I'm playing it now.
I don't understand how this is a reason. If EA wants to put a game on the Wii U, they can do it. Didn't stop Mass Effect and Madden from launching with the console.
I think they were just being butthurt and pulling support because of the rumored Origin deal breakdown.
@Zaakro
Ok it's not absolutely bad it's just so incredibly average that it's easily forgotten, and should be forgotten somewhere in the ocean of average fps that we have had this gen.
Besides from graphics there is absolutely no areas where the game shines. It's just bland as hell and it's the perfect example of what happens when you put all your money in the graphics department and forget about all the rest.
My opinion anyway, but I'm not alone there.
While it sucks that yet another (somewhat) big 3rd party game skips the Wii U, I'm not too disappointed. I'll stick to the PC version because that's where I feel the Crysis series was always really meant to be played.
@DonnyDarko420
yes, we could have Crysis 3 and a lot of fun with the gamepad but we have Masse Effect 3 full priced version and Madden: THANK YOU EA
More like this:
Crytek: We have Crysis 3 running on Wii U.
EA: So?...*we're still butthurt about the failed Origin deal with Nintendo face*
Not sad really. Game doesn't look great gameplay wise.
It's the response to the time when EA asked if they could integrate Origin's UI experience into Nintendo Network (and basically taking over Nintendo Network). Nintendo rejected that offer. Thus bringing us to no Crysis 3 for Wii U.

Spoken like a true Nintendo fanboy who has never even touched the game.
Excuse me, do you know me?
Because I sure don't know you, and I don't pretend that I know what games you play so go assume stuff somewhere else.
For what it's worth, Crysis 3 isn't all that great... Not bad. Just... unnecessary.
Still, sucks to see the lack of support like that, especially if it was working.
Yes, because you have to like every single game every company makes ever to not be a Nintendo fanboy.
This news is old, like June 2012 old. Not sure why everyone decided on reporting on it again. Unless the guy was interviewed again and he gave the exact same answers as last time, yeah this is old
You pretend to know what other people like/dislike with your blanket statement of "The game s*cks anyway." It might s*ck to you (that is if you've even played it) but many people may not hold that same opinion of the game.
You then go on to call people, who you also don't know, graphics whores, assuming all they care about are the graphics of Crysis.
Though it could have potentially made more graphics whores buy the console and ultimately expand the install base.
So don't get annoyed at BlueRangerVegeta for talking about you, the same way you just spoke about people.
I do get annoyed at BlueRangerVegeta because he insulted me, when I only stated that graphic whores were attracted by this game, which is true but it is not the same as to state that every single gamer who likes this game is a graphic whore. These are two different things.
What's more I think using the "you never played this game" argument was probably not the best thing to do, since we don't know each other and thus it's simply invalid. I get the idea that he might have felt offended but he shouldn't because as I explained I didn't assume people who like the game are graphic whores, just that graphic whores like the game, which is probably accurate since it's one of the very best looking games this gen (well at least the patched PC version).
And anyway, there is such a thing as going too far. Calling an hypothetical group of people graphic whores without targetting someone in particular is one thing. Insulting directly and namely someone is another.
And last but not least I actually explained my statement when I saw Zaakro's reaction to my comment. I thought what I said needed an explanation so I added this:
But oh well forget it. It's just people overreacting there. Nothing unusual. Sadly.
Bottom line is the game would have been profitable to the system since it would have attracted a certain category of customers, if you like it better that way. But really, in my opinion, there are a ton of better fps around and it's a very average game that I would never want to get for more than 10€ on steam. Seriously that's what it's worth.
And since you absolutely need to know, yes I played the game, didn't finish it. Played a couple of hours at a friend's place on PC with a giant screen and one hell of a computer. The graphics aspect works for one hour or so, and then you just think you'd rather play somethig else. I'm sorry but when I look at my personal backlog, I have better things to do than this mediocre Crysis 3.
@BlueRangerVegeta
As a multi-console owner who actually really likes the FPS genre, I say "keep this crap out of my console!"...! The game sucks bad! The third installment is nothing fresh, not even visually with completely uninspired levels such as the swamp and the dam and even more close areas than before! The hit detection was horrible in both the previous games and the lag was unbearable! Same with the matchmaking. The DLC for the second game was just a recycle of the original maps, basically a combination between two similar maps, the spawning system was a joke, the weapons and the perks completely unbalanced(like the STOMP one), etc...The game is horrible!
What deal? Can you do it? Yes! Ok thanks!
I just made the deal, so what's the problem!?
