LEGO City Undercover play-set code trouble

Did you pick up any of the LEGO City Undecover toys to go along with the Wii U game? Excited to try out some of those codes? Turns out you might not be able to use them. Reader Manntis has gotten a code with 7 characters to enter, but the game only allows for 6 character slots. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Oh dang, my set has a seven character code... This could be a problem when I get that game eventually.

EDIT: I'm wrong. Watch the video below.

@Omegavertebra

My code is entirely different, and made almost entirely out of letters. GH60007? 60007 is the set number. Odd.

There's actually a special place where you can use seven digit codes. I believe it unlocks somewhere around Chapter 5. Here's the official video describing the process:

Ah, that's good. Wonder where Manntis was finding the six digit code entry...

There's nothing wrong with the code. the code needs to be entered in the game on the garage of the police station then the doors will open and you can choose to be the cop or the robber..... it was explain on the lego city site.

I ordered the set from Amazon and my code was miss printed and I could not read it. I had to exchange it for a new one. The new one worked fine!

@PsychoDuck

The six digit code entry is in the Extras menu and in the Police HQ. It seems to be used for special costumes if the codes from the special survey are any indication. In addition, the codes from the survey are generic so it might be a good idea to have them posted here for easy access.

I sent this in. Here's the issue the video here:

link: http://bit.ly/Yu3Fmu

shows an early rev the of Wii U game where it did accept 7 characters. But I have the Wii U game, there are now only 6 spaces, not 7 as this older video shows.

The license plate in the Lego set has a 7 digit code that begins VR-XXXXXXX. But alas, the game only accepts 6 characters. I have emailed Lego on their site for help and a solution.

Thanks for adding this RMC! Love all that you do for us.

In the Wii U game, the game developers changed this to 6 characters in the FINAL GAME. The Lego sets were made before, so something changed along the way.

I see that the survey provided on the Lego site now gives 3, six character codes, but the Lego sets contain codes with 7 characters.

You're not supposed to enter them in the extras menu. There's a thing by the Police garages that has an entry for a 7 digit code.

@Triforce of the Gods

I am following the instructions from the video, I am not using the Extras menu. I am using the giant computer at the Police station.

This is where the manual and the website video (though old) tells you to enter it.

Do you have the game? The instructions say to use the computer in the Police station and this will unlock the garage revealing the cars. But, the computer only accepts 6 characters not 7.

I do have the game. I'm looking at the computer outside the Police station right now and it's accepting 7 characters.

Edit: Inside? That's your issue. You're supposed to use the one outside in front of the garages. The one inside has six characters, but the one outside has 7. Looks like the inside one is a copy of the extras menu.

Outside in front of the police station is a console where you can input 7 digit codes. I was wondering what that was used for.

I suggest making this even MORE confusing... just for more Lego fun.

I just noticed I'm a fairy... I should get all radical too.

You put the code in at the garage outside of the police station. It won't unlock until later in the game.

@KillerHeroes

Thanks!!! You solved what turned out to be an easy solution.

That sure wasn't made very clear. I'll check outside, in front of the police station tonight. Much appreciated. Sorry, apparently there is no error.
