Nintendo survey points to Wiimote Plus fast-charger

Coming from a Nintendo survey...

Man, talk about taking a long time! I guess this is better than an official option never coming out. Thanks to Russ for the heads up!

I held off on buying Wii Remote plus but if they add a rechargeable battery I might just have to cave.

Yeah, the Nyko battery packs I've used barely hold a charge now, had to go back to regular batteries.

Biggest thing I'd have though is wanting to keep my Gold Wiimote backing gold as well.

I just bought an Energizer charging cradle/battery packs since my Intec ones weren't lasting long. >.< The Intec ones lasted 2 hours, the Energizer ones last more like 8.

i'd buy that in second but imo the standard wii remote needs something similar

There is no way I'd get this at $40, wow.

$40 - Somewhat likely. $20 to $30 - Very likely.

Uhm, all that for $40 isn't bad.. At all.

$40 is fine if it comes with a Wiimote Plus. Otherwise, im thinking $20 for a single battery and charger is more fair. Maybe even $30 if it comes with two batteries so you can rotate out when one is dead.

Too late for that. I'd rather have them make an official external HDD for the Wii U.

Why do you need an official one? That's like saying you need an official SD card, which were overpriced and only had the name on them. :roll:

It'd be even better if the rechargeable battery was built in like the Wii U Pro Controller... The hell is taking them so long. Not like the tech for the Wii Remote (Plus) is as expensive as it was years ago...

...where the hell was this 5 years ago?

$40 for a charge set on top of $40 for a Wii Remote. Wow...Nintendo... *smh*

Other companies tend to charge $20-$30 for charging stations with two battery packs. Yeah Nintendo is overcharging, but not by as much as everyone is making it out to be.

You can get the Nyko charger with 4 battery packs for only $20...

@Triforce of the Gods
Yeah, it honestly depends.

How many batteries?
How many Wii Remotes can the cradle hold?
What is the voltage of the battery?

If it's 1 battery, 1 cradle for 1 Wii remote, a short lived battery (haven't compared battery lengths yet), for $40...? ugh..

I already bought rechargeable batteries so I'm good. This would have been useful in 2006.

@ People that list Nyko

Nyko packs SUCK. They burned my batteries and lost a charge very fast. Many reviews are out there detailing burns, shortages/failures quickly.

I guess because it's safer and easier. and it makes it easy for people who don't know much about external HDD's, powered, non-powered. It makes it less confusing. Especially if they're trying to appeal to the non-hardcore types. There's also the fact it will 100% work while not all models work with the system. It's why they have a list.

My Nykos ones are all half dead... I'll have to buy new ones now. I'll wait a bit for it, to see if it's actually interesting.

I agree, but if they made one with a 1-up shape or a metroid or a Mario head, I would buy one, other than that, is useless....

@cbbomb

You know what an external HDD would be? An off the shelf HDD with a Wii U label stuck on it an $50 added to the price.

Just like the official SD cards are off the shelf SD cards with a Wii label and the price doubled.

Better late than never, I suppose. It would save me money from buying more batteries.
