RUMOR - GTA V being tested on Wii U dev kits, Rainbow Six: Patriots as well

- GTA V was being tested on Wii U dev kits for some time
- Rainbow Six: Patriots was up-and-running on Wii U

This information comes from an inside retail source that accurately leaked announcements of Watch Dogs, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. Doesn't mean the above rumors will come true, but perhaps they're worth some attention.

Gosh dang, this is what I've been thinking for a while now. I hope Rockstar sees a benefit to release this and I know Nintendo would throw some marketing dollars behind this if announced around E3.

why did w101 get booted from your list?

If it's about the game's length, Atsushi Inaba clarified (you can find the article on MyNintendoNews)

I would be surprised if GTA V comes to Wii U, but I I don't care about the franchise. I just really just would like to see Dark Souls 2 and possibly Killer is Dead come to Wii U as far as currently announced games go. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like that will be happening, at least not for this year anyway.

People are complaining about Kamiya's recent comment about how The Wonderful 101 is not being planned to be a long game. How long we do not know yet, but he said it was meant to high high replay value as the game won't be including filler content to artificially lengthen its single player campaign. Personally, I don't mind playing short games as long as their not repetitive as well. MadWorld was like that even though there were some redeeming qualities about it.

By the way, the link to the article's source is not working.

I do think Nintendo could be saving GTA V Wii U as an E3 surprise. I would love if it hit Wii U, Rainbow Six as well

I have no doubts that Rainbow Six will find its way to the Wii U as Ubisoft has been giving us stellar support.

If GTA5 hits Wii U I will eat my hat and record it!

I really hope Rainbow Six Patriots turns out well. Rainbow Six is one Ubisoft's more underappreciated IP's imo.

It's been delayed and revamped for so long I just hope it doesn't suffer from development hell.

@wiiarebrothers@OmicronTurtle
"Was running" as in they saw it running on the hardware in the past, not that it's no longer running on the Wii U.

At this point, it's only a matter of time.

But in the meantime, this rumor will be taken with a grain of salt and I won't raise my hopes up for it untll Take-Two finally clears things up next month.

GTA V will be one of the bigger Cross-Gen titles closing out the end of this year [along with CoD and, possibly, Watch Dogs] - so yeah, I think it's very likely coming out on the Wii U too.

Now that I think about it, when CVG was talking about positive WiiU news that made them confident about WiiU, maybe they were talking about that... well, since it's available on existing platforms, it'll make no difference hardware sales wise. Besides, I'm personnaly not interested in that game at all.

I haven't enjoyed this series since San Andreas. Everything in the series since has felt so clunky and non responsive.
However, If this comes to the WII U, I will play the feces out of it.
(edited due to "forum rules" really guys?)

Not interested in either. GTA4 left a bad taste in my mouth, so bad I stopped playing halfway through. It was too racist, homophobic & geared towards 15 year olds for my liking. Rainbow Six: P from what I read way back suggested the plot revolved around an enemy that very closely resembled the Occupy movement. If that is at all true I have no interest in that game & have lost some respect for Ubisoft.

We are allowed to curse now, apparently the rules changed at some point or some fucking shovel like that. Some words are still auto replaced as a goof, but you can now use any words you like. Not like the time last year I got a warning for saying the word "rape" in proper context.

But, I'm guessing you wouldn't have any problem if the enemy were a Tea Partier, right?

as i've read on miiverse , far cry 3 was tested once so it doesn't mean much .

I'm still wondering why they don't treat the wii u as they do the pc . No no no no not the day one port which is also rare now that i think of it , but mostly the fact that every active steam users is also a 360 or (and) ps3 owner. They might think they are primarily pc gamer but they still easily buy the eight games over seven years that the average home system owners does , more in reality , they do have the money . So in the wild west of steam prices are slashed away for the convenience of pc users to get them all in the same place , every one is fine with that , the primary sales comes from the ps360 and they get a bonus from those five dollars game . A very few actually play the games , double dip triple dip is a badge of honor for them .
They could do the same with wii u , offer the convenience of having the game on either the gamepad or their nintendo machine and so like on steam slash away the price .
Mass effect trilogy , batman duology , dirt trilogy , lego harry potter collection , orange box 2 with portal 2 , ac creed I II something , all of those at launch at 30 dollars each would have been a great deal for everyone . DO NOT FORGET that mass effect 2 for instance can be bought for 4 bucks right now , batman reach that point during sales , amazon did a fourteen dollars lego bundles that had far more games , portal 2 is 5 during sales , ac 2,5 , dirt 2 3 two weeks ago.
And then just after leaving the nintendo platforms , they could have used those packages to fill up the digital stores of the ps4 and next box .
hey for the longest time star wars lego collection episode 1-6 was a best seller on wii , they could have had one also .

I love GTA 4! The PS2 GTA games (GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas) felt sloppy and rushed, especially in the controls department. GTA 4 felt more refined and polished, and the driving is well done too.

Well preorders are up for GTAV and there is no mention of the WiiU. I wouldn't expect a surprise here.

Nice try but guess again. Tea Party people can be a bit nutty, but they have the same basic ideals of the occupy movement (those people can be nutty to). The Tea Party itself however is very suspect when you look at it's funding and how popular media personalities co-opted it.. The Occupy movement didn't rely on a billionaire funding it & people like Glen Beck rallying crowds to gain steam.
That said I support anyone who (legitimately) fights for change & swift justice for corrupt globalists, bankers, politicians & corporate interests controlling government.

GTA 5 releasing on Wii U would be the best news for me. I have been a GTA super fan since the first game released for the PC. As it stands I plan to buy a cheap used 360 just to play that game. I sold my xbox just before we got a Wii U cause I never played it. I was thinking at the time that there is no way EA would skip Wii U. <--- Blinded by my Nintendo faith.... :)

I really hope we hear something official about GTA5 wii u.

GTA is made by Rockstar, not EA.

Also, I wouldn't buy a used Xbox 360, the hardware in the older models isn't very reliable (Red Ring of Death). The redesigned Slim would be a much better choice.
