Official Wii U lens cleaning kit available via Nintendo's store

Reduce the risk of disc read errors with the Wii U Lens Cleaning Kit. When used regularly, this kit can help keep your disc reader lens free of dust, dirt, or other contaminates, which can cause disc read errors. (This kit will not fix errors caused by damage to the Wii console's disc drive, disc reader lens, or game disc(s).)

This cleaning kit is for adult use only and contains chemicals. It should be stored out of the reach of small children when not in use.

Grab yours here (thanks Kolma!)

Let's not waste money. Let's all use our cleaning cloth that came with our glasses.

@Kolma
That's why you tape it around some disc, and then slide it in.

For a moment there I thought that this was available at the Eshop and I thought to myself: "How is this going to work??" XD

I have the one for Wii and boy I was shocked with what got in it. The cloth had a dark black spot.

I wonder if the one I have works on the Wii U.

With is being an actual disc now.

Lol my mistake. I made my reply before finishing the article. This still seems unnecessary. I never needed it for my Wii and I take care of my games so the Wii shouldn't be dirty on the inside.

Thank you NoA for still forgetting about your neighboring country to the south...

I for one needed the cleaning kit for my console to keep playing... I tried other devices and they didn't work.
