What exactly did you not like about Colors, considering the gameplay is the same for Modern Sonic?

The wisps themselves? Omitting the Wisps doesn't make it NOTHING like Colors, since it's the same thing as Gens.

My only problem with Wisps was that some of them were awful, others were great.

On that note, did you like Planet Wisp, in Generations?

They look like demons. Their silhouettes certainly look fun and cartoony, so I hope that's the case.

Wow, that's... not the kind of silhouettes I was expecting. I expected more of the usual Sonic-ized animal look like whenever we get a new Sonic character; this looks a lot more cartoony in a Western style. Reminds me a bit of Skylanders, to tell you the truth.

I can almost guarantee the chick on the far left is a mouse, though. Look at the tail.

I don't like this. SEGA's teasing new Sonic the Hedgehog characters before we see a scrap of anything else regarding the game. It reminds me of a darker time... but if the gameplay holds up, I'm still more than down with Lost World. Sonic 4, Colors, and Generations have proved that SEGA knows what they're doing once again.

I'm not the person you were asking, but I agree with him, so here's my two cents:

Colors had pretty terribad controls, versus Generations which polished them up substantially. This was especially evident in any section that requires Sonic to move in 2D - in Colors it's an absolute chore while in Generations it feels much more natural. Generations also had far superior level design when compared to Colors, which had empty 3D areas and often generic-feeling 2D areas. None of this was helped by the needless padding levels in Colors, which would often feel utterly boring an repetitive and/or highlight the lackluster physics.

Thankfully, most of Colors' flaws were simply design issues rather than real decisions the makers would have made, and since they've proven with Generations that they can move past that, I can't see them regressing for Lost World.

I liked Planet Wisp (Modern) in Generations because they only relied on ONE wisp power-up and it was the best one too...Classic Planet Wisp in Generations is terrible and I have replayed all the stages in Generations multiple times but ALWAYS skip over classic Planet Wisp.

Now onto Sonic Colors, I hated the wisp power-ups they broke the flow of the gameplay for me and some were just cumbersome to use. I hated the camera it was terrible! It would zoom out WAYYY to far to the point where you could barely see what was going on in the stage. The bosses were lame IMO. The difficulty was ALL over the place. The one-liners by Sonic and Tails weren't funny (Eggman's PSA's were good though). Oh and it was TOO much 2D. The game was 70% 2D and 30% 3D, Generations had a MUCH better balance between the two. The only thing Colors had going for it IMO was the music but then again no Sonic game has had terrible music IMO.

"no Sonic game has had terrible music"

The 8-bit games (Game Gear and Master System), Sonic The Hedgehog '06, Sonic R, etc.

Excuse me, but the GG sonics didn't have bad music, they were just weaker due to game gear limitations. Sonic R has OK music if you turn the lyrics off, and at least 06 had a OK main theme. (The only good part about that game)

If those are bosses, then I hope we do not have to endure tons of cutscenes with them, prerendered or otherwise.

If they are friends, hopefully they are handled like the Wisps in Colors -- power-ups with no lines and completely skippable while going through the levels rather than full-fledged playable characters.

FINALLY someone that agrees with me on this. Sonic Colours is an absolute dreadful game yet it gets so much praise, why?

where do I start:
- awful awful controls
- 3D sections are about 75% on rails
- those 2D sections where you are bouncing on a spring in mid air that moves at 1mph
- pressing A in mid air to try to double jump but sonic decides to do a homing attack on an enemy that's just within range, flies off the screen and dies
- those cutscene that make my ears bleed
- horrible boss fights
- atrocious level design
- usually with the 3D section of sonic games you are given 2-3 seconds to react and dodge a pit/obstacle or die (which is BS), so unless you're very good there's a lot of trial and error but with Sonic Colours there are several sections that gave you no chance whatsoever, for example you'll be sliding across that roller coaster stage where there is absolutely no way for you to see which way the right way is and if you take the wrong way you die, so unless you are psychic it's 100% trial and error which is utter BS.
- that bouncing light power up controls like crap
- that purple monster power up controls like resident evil 1
- most of the power ups except the drill are crap
- those levels where you have to watch sonic run across a path for about 20 seconds whilst you do nothing but sit and wait
- there are sections where the camera zooms out so far you can barely see wherever the hell sonic is.
- those sections where you switch between 3 different pathways to dodge lasers or enemy attacks are lazy, dated and boring.
- some of the songs are good but some of the songs are incredibly annoying
- considering there was a ds sonic colours which was basically all 2d it was pretty pathetic to find that sonic colours was about 75% 2D and 25% 3D because the idiots at sonic team are incompetent and don't want to put effort into making the 3D sections good and want to hide behind the 2D sections, but then even the 2D sections are dreadful so the whole game is just one big mess.

don't remember any of this? play it again, and not just the first few levels because the first few levels were quite decent, it's just that the rest of the game is terrible

The only Sonic game with terrible music is Dark Brotherhood. All others were at least okay, IMO.

Except maybe for the Kinect Riders game.

I still have to play Colors though Planet Wisp was easily my least favorite stage, both Classic and Modern, in Generations. But I know people who love Colors who hated those stages.

Wow...I pretty much disagree with all of this. I had no real problems with the contorls, and I thought the level designs were fun and quirky. So, I guess you can say I do hope this game is like Colors.

But hey, to each their own.

8-bit games had good music. The music was one of the few problems Sonic 2006 didn't have. And if you every dare to say that you can't feel the sunshine you're dead to me.

Exaggerate much? Terrible really? Please compare this game to 06, Superman 64, Aquaman. Those games are terrible. Mediocre? Sure, but terrible?
