SEGA customer service thinks Bayonetta 1 and 2 are the same game, just with multiplayer and cosmetic changes

Someone reached out to SEGA in order to find out if there was a chance for Bayonetta to receive a Wii U port. If there is no chance, the customer was going to purchase Bayonetta on the 360 or PS3. The response that SEGA customer service gave is absolutely mind-boggling.

The second Bayonetta as you well know is being published by Nintendo exclusively for the Wii U. Both games have been developed by Platinum games. That said, the decision on which version to purchase is really up to you. The games are exactly the same except the WiiU version has a two player mode and the Bayonetta character has different hair and her costume is different.

If those additional features are not important to you, then by all means don't hesitate to pick up the PS3 or Xbox version. Good Luck and we hope you enjoy whatever version you decide on.

Someone at SEGA customer service is about to have a very, very bad Monday.

I never understood it when employees encourage you NOT to buy something.

The 2 in Bayonetta 2 stands for 2 players, obviously. And 2nd costume.

Welp, looks like Sega is mad that they didn't pick up Bayonetta 2 when they could've. What a bunch of pricks.

Inb4 all the biased game media reports: "BAYONETTA 2 IS JUST BAYONETTA + NEW FEATURES"

Yeah, this sounds like a confirmation for a Bayonetta Wii U port.

Quick, someone take it to Kamiya.

Someone tell kamiya quick! This should really make him upset, and it does me too. I don't think that rep knows what "story" means.

And cue fitting music considering how insanely insane this comment is!

Is this person so oblivious or is the person lying on purpose to try and sell the first game? Either way that's amazing...

This is too good to be true.... oh how I love you Sega's CS.

This is almost as good as the Ubisoft Marketing drone that bashed Driver.

Seriously though, CS is never anything more than marketing drones trying to BS you. I can't count how many times I've been lied to by Nintendo and EA customer service, I've learned I'm better off making a forum post or asking in a chatroom than I ever am calling them.

And furthermore, Bayonetta 1 is not a good game. Especially on PS3.

It's the same all over, no matter what the company it is...take the CS for Nintendo UK, they don't know the difference between a GameCube and Wii U console "unless you point it out to them"...even thought one states Wii U, and does not mention GameCube anywhere at all! - Ref to my rant, Google "Wii U Game Update Data …There’s No Turning Back!"

Not only that, they also don't know the difference between Game Update Data and Console Update Data!!
It's remarkable how one gets such a job, it's not like there is a shortage of willing people!

NOA has spectacular customer service. Apparently the UK and Australian CS groups aren't as helpful...
