The game was interesting to me, and I was planning on buying it.
You had my support. I've never turned my back to you.
...but what happened?
Why did you do this to me?

I don't know how they can get excited over moving a game from a system with a huge install base to a system that doesn't reach even half of the former's install base.

They can shove 1001 spikes up their arses, telling us we're getting Grinsia as if that was a good thing just makes things worse for me.

It sucks that it moved to Vita but some of you guys are ridiculous. That being said, I doubt this is the game Vita owners were waiting for.

I feel like Sony has something to do with this... I don't care since I have a Vita, but it's a shame they can't just sell on both. :/

I wonder...if one of this days a company cancels a ps3 or xbox360 game and re-announce it exclusively for the Wii U...everyone here would also call them stupid and moronic for being as idiotic in going after the console with the smaller userbase?

Anyway, believe it or not, for reasons that escape from my understanding, some kinds of games indeed do sell better on the Vita than in the 3DS.

Good point  ...but we can never be so sure...just look at this example, you would never expect a 3DS game being cancelled in order to release it on Vita...

If anything, this underdog story might be good news for the Wii U loyalist, if more companies were as stupid as to release more exclusive games on vita, they might also be stupid enough to do the same on the Wii U.

The Vita and the Wii U are two underdogs united by fate :D ...both systems primary strength is a big freaking touch screen with awesome graphics that need recharging every three hours, and are overshadowed by their most succesful sibling platforms.

You say this as I laugh every single time a PS or Xbox fan demands Bayonetta 2 on their console because the first one was on it :3. One of the exclusives I'm looking forward to since I need a good replacement for Devil May Cry now that Capcom/ninja theory has gone and ruined it.

Nicalis finds new ways to soil its own name.

I don't see why it can't come to both but I guess that would take them 10 years instead of 5.

oh wow that sucks so much. well at least i feel less guilty for buying legally the game (the first one anyway) for 60 cents during the groupees.com/doujin ,.
well now i'm never going to buy the sequel. I was waiting for the game for so long. I guess i'll even buy my hated series tekken on 3ds now, just after blazblue. sf4 and doa 3ds are just so great and gorgeous on a 3d screen , i could not care less for "oled" or "hdtv" .
and the whole thing is just so unprofessional, port it to vita yeah sure, cancel it for 3ds ... okay the eshop is obviously bigger but okay let's say it's a reasonable decision , but never ever port it and trash the "old" platform, that's just childish behavior.

i was only going to buy fighters on 3ds, only way to enjoy the 3d . on wii u at full price for sure i did it for tatsunoko, i still play it. On pc , like every game never over the five bucks mark if so and i'm generous , glad to see with that latest move, they vindicated my behavior. btw power user steam fanatics during sale spend 60 bucks top, so much for a viable market. only 1.5 million got the bundle not to avoid. so much for active dedicated fanbase.

It is actually close to 33 million 3DS users and 5 million Vita users, but yeah, I have no idea what they are thinking... Plus, the gap is going to get even larger when Pokemon launches in October. Maybe they only care about the graphics, or maybe they got paid for exclusivity to Vita. Who knows..?

I call total BS. 3DS outsells Vita by a ridiculous margin, yet loses a game because of vocal support. And yet I haven't heard one developer or publisher move a game to Wii U, no matter how vocal we are. (I'm not counting the Platinum games Nintendo is funding.) . And as much as Vita needs games, I'll be agreeable to that once for every time a Sony or Microsoft fan has said that yes, they'd like a game, but Wii U needs them, so they understand the game going there. But since they complained about not getting the aforementioned Platinum games Nintendo WAS FUNDING, I don't think I'll ever care much if Vita gets anything.

I love all the negative comments the Vita is getting lol.The hhardware sales may not be the best but it's been shown time and time again that software sales are damn good on the system, especially digitally. That's the reason why Wii U gets less third party support than Vita, 3rd party games actually sell a decent amount.

I would like to know the thought process with these clowns.

Developers: What's that? No one gives a crap about our obscure game? Let's make it more obscure!

People with sense: But didn't a decent amount of people want this on the 3DS?

Developers: Who cares?! Money is gross!
User avatar
23 Aug 2013 08:29

It makes sense when you realize that Vita has more fighters than 3DS despite its lower audience.
User avatar
23 Aug 2013 10:05

If you look at who might buy the game ... and you look at what it would be competing against -- the move may make some sense.

But why switch. Why not both?
User avatar
23 Aug 2013 10:46

Perhaps they thought that there is too much competition in 3DS and made a strategic withdrawal.

Can we storm Nicalis' twitter? I'm really angry. I've been waiting for this since announcement.

Go for it. I've already whined to them on there. Tyrone Rodriguez is being uppity to anyone who questions him on there so it can be a lot of fun.

So they ditch a platform with a sizable advantage in userbase to go to a more obscure one? A sound business choice right there.
User avatar
23 Aug 2013 21:45

That's ridiculous reasoning. How many people at Shoryuken.com are actually rolling around with a Vita? I mean lets be honest here, if the fighting game crowd in general was about fighters on portable systems, the Vita would be selling a lot better then it is.

It seems to me that they listened to those same loud annoying "Sony is the only company I buy games for" people that plague video game sites rather then looking at actual sales numbers and basing their release based on install base.

Install base doesn't really matter, software sales do.

You'd be surprised, but software sales of Vita games come very close to 3DS sales (Not of major hits like Mario, Pokemon etc), and in some genres outdo them, especially fighters. So no, from a business perspective, it is not a bad move.

They're leaving money off one end with plenty of potential buyers as to try to satisfy a small vocal group on a relatively dead platform. Why they didn't just do both is beyond me considering it was first announced as coming to 3DS and then they just suddenly dropped that? For what reason exactly? Oh, overwhelming response from the community. Let's ignore these folks here and go over there instead. Brilliant.
