Nintendo warns Brazilian retailers of penalty for selling Pokemon X/Y early

Nintendo continues to tell retailers that they're serious about the Pokemon X/Y street date. The above pamphlet warns that if the street date is broken, Nintendo will hold future product shipments until after their release date. Thanks to Andre for the heads up!

That is bs. Gamers have to suffer for retail mistakes not cool. You all may have thumps this up but if nintendo did this here in the US you all would get anger. Nintendo needs to think of something else.

Good. I don't see why people can't wait a little while.

@siavm
Even if it was here in the U.S., I would give it a thumbs up. If it was sold like a day early or shipped a few days early so you get it on launch day. That's fine and I understand. However, we're hearing the game getting sold 2 weeks early. That's ridiculous and the store deserves to be punished. Besides, they'll probably just ship more copies to the other stores instead so just change stores. There's no other way to teach the store a lesson then by making them watch other stores rake in the money.

P.S. Selling a game that has been massively been promoted to launch across the world 2 weeks early is not a "retail mistake."

Have Nintendo reps running about with shipments a day or two before launch to larger retailers. Smaller retailers may receive copies the day of launch and then everyone can burn. :I

Oh well I'm not a little child anymore even though I heavily anticipate this game. I will patiently wait till saturday so I can abuse my long weekend to spam this game.

Glad to see them take action on competitive titles. Those small stores don't sell the games early for cheap, and it's often near double the price of the game and to a select few.

@siavm Microsoft would [rightly] ban your console, This is quite generous. Also, if you're in the market for this, you know exactly what you are doing and you are NOT innocent.

Yeah, impatience from people really messes people up.

Gamers aren't going to suffer.... and yes Nintendo has the same policy across all regions, but no region has ever sold a game 2 weeks in advance.

What these retailers did was WRONG and should be punished. Releasing a title a day early isn't as bad, but 2 weeks? Thats blatantly breaking the policy.
