Aussie man sued for pirating New Super Mario Bros. Wii gets a gift from Nintendo

Remember the Aussie man that, back in 2009, was being sued by Nintendo for $1.6 million due to his pirating/uploading of New Super Mario Bros. Wii? It's funny how time heals all wounds. That same man has now received a gift from Nintendo, a Ganon statue. According to him, Nintendo specifically chose him to receive the statue, since it's an item not released in Australia. I guess this is Nintendo's way of saying no hard feelings?! Thanks to CaribbeanBrony for the heads up!

This guy will probably be in debt his whole life, to Nintendo. I imagine they are just saying, "Thanks for the money bro!"

I expect to see this statue on eBay selling for about...

1.6 million dollars.

Haha, that's so weird. Whoever came up with this idea at Nintendo definitely laughs like Sideshow Bob.

More proof that Nintendo doesn't know what they're doing?

Wow lol, well I suppose even Nintendo realises that pirating to bound to happen regardless so they don't take it too personally?

Wow... now that you pointed that out... that's hilarious.

This was totally a passive aggressive thing.

Or Nintendo's way of reminding him he's a villain.

Man, I should pirate and distribute Nintendo games if it means they'll send me free statues!

That's the first thing I thought of too. Pretty awesome on Nintendo's part.

1.6 million for one lousy pirated game... was the guy selling pirated copies?

I bet he could sell that Ganon statue for a pretty penny to repay that debt :P

@Kiro It's just that the game came out in Australia before any other country for once, so it might have stopped many overseas sales. Ultimately though, the game sold really really well anyway!
