BUSY day today! Nintendo Direct brought a ton of fun stuff with it. While you're still sifting through all that content, you can wind down the day with our friend Smooth McGroove! See you in a few, short hours.

We've heard from a very well-known analyst and a celebrity Nintendo fan this week, but that's not all we have to offer! I thought it would be nice to include some fresh faces around here. There's no fresher (or nicely bearded) face out there for Nintendo fans than Smooth McGroove.

Smooth McGroove made a big name for himself on YouTube by sharing his amazing a capella renditions of video game songs. Tucked into his collection of tunes is a healthy amount of Nintendo content. It's easy to see that Smooth was heavily influenced by the Big N when he started gaming. Thankfully, that's a love that has continued on to this day!

Below, Smooth discusses where's at as a Nintendo fan and how he got to be there. Thanks to Smooth for chatting with us!

Also, just incase you haven't seen any of Smooth's videos, here's one of my favorites.

Nintendo has always represented themselves as one of the few companies that truly care about the quality of their games. Every Nintendo title that I've ever picked up and played has made its mark on my psyche, especially the ones I played when I was a kid. Even the new Nintendo titles still bare the mark of insane amounts of testing and tuning, which a lot of people don't seem to give them credit for. I have to admit that, starting with the Wii, I haven't kept up as much with console gaming as I did in the past. Life caught up with me and the only gaming I did for a long time was on my PC. But now that I work with video game music, I'm back to playing my favorite Nintendo titles again on their newest consoles; the 3DS and the Wii U.

The 3DS instantly amazed me with how awesome it feels. I owned a Game Boy and a Game Boy Advance as a kid, but playing games on the 3DS made me realize that Nintendo is still the best in the hand-held console arena. The way they pulled off the 3D without 3D glasses instantly blew my mind, not to mention the sheer amount of games available for the device. I recently got a Wii U, and though I haven't played it as much as my 3DS I'm excited for all the new games coming out for it. I honestly don't care about any of the other next-gen consoles as much as this one because of the games that I know will come out for the Wii U. I've always been a quality-over-quantity gamer, and Nintendo has always done it for me and then some.
