GN Version 5.0

A portion of an 8chan interview with Denis Dyack...

On Shadow of the Eternals info:

Dyack: As soon as we can :). No announcement yet sorry.

On the removed medieval knight chapter from Eternal Darkness:

Dyack: This section of the game was removed and rewritten because of 9/11 unfortunately. Anything to do with crusaders at the time was considered to risky and the game was almost cancelled because of this. Thankfully, we were able to change it in time. This change delayed the launch for the GameCube, but we were able to do it and get the game released.

On moving Eternal Darkness from the N64 to GameCube:

Dyack: Well we created a new engine for the GameCube version but it ran 480p without a extra memory - it was a technical very difficult to get that to work but it did.

On creating the game in general and something he wanted to change:

Dyack: It was a great experience putting it together. The end game was on track with the original vision considering technology updates. We wanted to create a game were lots of people were going to die. :) ...I wanted to balance the magick economy more and not have it simply refresh over time.

On the size of the Eternal Darkness universe:

Dyack: There is more too it. The universe design for ED is vast and there are so many more stories to tell.

Mr. Dyack also stated that he would love to work on a new Eternal Darkness for Wii U or 3DS if Nintendo asked him to. That was just his own personal interest, as nothing has been formally requested by Nintendo. Huge thanks to Trojanhorse711 for the heads up!
