The History of Donkey Kong

Postby AdamM » 23 Jun 2012 21:08

Hello everyone! Recently I was thinking about what a wild ride Donkey Kong and the entire DK franchise has been on over the last thirty years, and I decided that I would do a written documentary about the history of Nintendo's oldest remaining franchise. I've put a lot of work into this, and I think the Donkey Kong series has a unique and interesting history that no other series can replicate, so it's certainly an interesting read.

Right now I only have part one up, which covers everything from the arcade Donkey Kong's development process to the 1994 Game Boy Donkey Kong game. Part two, which will cover the Rareware years, will be up soon.

Here's part one if anyone is interested:
Part 1 - 1979 to 1994
Part 2 - 1994 to 2002

Thanks for taking your time to read this!

I enjoyed it; thanks for the read. But, please tell me when the Rare years come up, because that's when I started to love Donkey Kong.

Thanks for the feedback! Part two should either be up later tonight or early tomorrow morning, I just have to do some last minute editing now. But I'll let you know for sure when I finish it.

thanks for the read again! i loved the games the Rareware years produced, and I think I have played all of those games except Donkey Kong Land 1 and Donkey Kong Land 3. I'm interested to see the next part though. Donkey Konga and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat were alright, but they weren't the same.
