I saw a post similar to this from back in 2005, but this is going to differ a bit, so I hope it doesn't cause any problems...
We've now seen the Wii come to light. There are, currently, only a few titles that have online modes and several more coming out, but, likely, not as many as a lot of us would like. Considering that fact and that I've read several interviews with developers that say that their games would not be online because they do not think that is the direction that the Wii is going right now, even though us diehards say "uh, yeah, it is..." would it be worth it to you to pay for online? With that payment would come: superior online modes for any developer that wanted it, better support via Nintendos servers and less lag, and perhaps a better friend code system.
Granted, I understand that Wii is really just now trying to get off the ground. I also understand that the Wii probably had the biggest hype (positive or negative) of any console ever, due to folks learning about it online. That being said, I'm pretty dissappointed that there is not more online focus, this being the Age of the Internet and all.
So the question boils down to if it meant better service and more focus on multiplayer online games, would you pay for online?
Thanks for your input!
