If EarthBound came to VC would you download it?

I think game does get a bit to much hype, not for what it is, but for how it's aged. It simply isn't as unique or fun as it once was. But for all the big fans I hope it comes out for you. Because if you didn't have it back in the 90s it'll be your only real (legal) chance to get it.

I would download it and I own the original game cartridge. Unfortunately, the VC will never see it as Nintendo of America has made it painfully obvious they hate the Mother series, despite it being their own damn fault the game sank back in the 90s.

ESRB has already rated it for North American VC. It's just a matter of time now. Super Mario RPG took ages to release after initially showing up on the ESRB database too.

Well now, The way things are going I think Halo 4 has a better chance of coming to Wii.*Sigh* It just ticks me off how it's been all ready to go sence May and still no signs. At least were getting more games on VC that aren't crap more often. Good sign I guess.

Not only would I download it... I would gift it to all my friends, even the ones who did not want it, just to be extra supportive of the series. I dont think there are other series I would do that for exept for Kid Icarus.

Being an Australian, when I first unlocked Ness on Super Smash Bros. for the N64, my first reaction was: "Who the eff is that?"

That is unacceptable. EarthBound has never been released in PAL regions, and it is time it was.

The only reason for holding it back that I can think of is they may be working on the other two Mother games licensing, porting, deciding how to handle Mother 3.
That or they are just being ridiculous and thinking the wait will be good anticipation. Which it isn't.

Is it even possible? It's been availible in ROM form for a while now. Would Nintendo see that as lost income?
The game's already in its North American translation. Would they mark it as an import title?
Imagine a week when Ninty releases Mother and EarthBound. The intrawebs would crash.

There's always hope for it to be Virtual Console'd, right?

I hope it gets here soon. Supposedly its MOTHER's 20th anniversary this coming July or something like that... not that it would really have much effect anywere, especially in places other than Japan.

I'd love to have it in a handheld version ala Mother 1+2, only I'd prefer Mother 2+3. They'd work on the DS perfectly.

Really? since most of the guys who've played Earthbound would definately fork 8 bucks to show support for this franchise.

I've been waitng for it to get on VC to play it, but since it'll most probably never come, Imight just have to get an emulator.

I bet we'll get MOTHER & EarthBound on VC, but the only chance we have for MOTHER 3 is if they decide to release it on DSiware or as a Compilation for GBA.

I've lost all hope of it ever coming to Virtual Console, but I've got 800 points in reserve so I can buy it the instant it does, if it ever does. I'd even be willing to pay 1000 points for it. I love it so much (second favorite game of all time) I'd even gift it to a friend or two, to spread the PK LOVE! (Oh man that was so corny)

I still have the cartridge for my SNES but I would definitely download it just because I think Nintendo needs to see that the series is popular if we are to ever get Mother 3 here.

Absolutely; along with FFVI, Illusion of Gaia, and Lufia II, it's one of only four games I need to see on Virtual Console before I can put away my SNES for good with no regrets. And it would be nice not needing to find phones to save my game.

I would definitely buy it, even if it is in English (which is not my native tongue) like every Hanabi Festival game. Because the map of this game looks so big, everything seems to be huge in this game !
