I have an problem with my games!

Postby Naked Age » 26 Mar 2009 10:30

Remember the update from yesterday? I update my Wii to 4.0 so I can play games off my SD cards. So I erased all my Wii games but kept the games on my SD cards. I only used the Wii blocks only for saved data.

Anyway so the Wii is empty beside the save data, and I been playing games like Star Fox 64, Mario Kart 64, Paper Mario, Wario's Wood, Nintendo Channel, Wii Speak Channel 2.0 (new updated!), Internet Channel, My Pokemon Ranch, and maybe other. All these channels work fine so far and haven't check other.

But!!! I found one channel that does not work at all. It doesn't show any error message. The game is called Samurai Shodown. When I start it up. The TV said no signal but I can hear the music and sounds the game was playing. So I decide to try it on the Wii blocks. It is the same result.

So I deleted the Samurai Shodown both on Wii and SD card. I went to the Wii Shop Channel to redownload the game. Except this time, my TV doesn't show no signal but show pitch black screen. I can still hear the sounds and music the game is playing. I have never ever experience this problem before. I try playing it on 480i and full screen instead of 480p and wide screen but no dice.

So far that only game I have an problem and I going check other channels and games if they doesn't work. I going switch my cable on my Wii to composite to see the game only work with composite cable.

Sorry it is a long post. Any thoughts?

Thank!

Edit: I fixed it by using http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/ts/pictureSound.jsp#blank and if you ask me this is really weird!
I love Majora's Mask. I love Wind Waker. I LOVE MY AVATAR! THANK!

Got a new Wii. All my friend codes are different now.

That is weird, never had that happen, yet. I'm gonna buy a 32 gigacard and put all of my VC and WiiWare games on it. And then I'll get another 32 gigacard for the DSi and do the same.

Lol, 32 GB for the DSi, talk about overkill. Unless of course you plan to use 29 or 30 GB for music/photos and possibly videos if a video player app ever hits (I'm sure a homebrew one will turn up), then I can understand.

I think I might stick with an 8GB card because I only recently ran into problems on my Wii, which is only 512 MB... Well, less than that.

Anyway if I were you Naked_Age I would contact Nintendo. It sounds like a very obscure glitch with the firmware installing on your system. If you were to give customer service a ring then they'd probably instruct you of the best way to fix this. Hopefully you'll be able to format your Wii and still play games off the SD card. Otherwise it's gonna suck re-downloading all those games again. Nintendo will know best I think though.
