GoNintendo Radio Request Thread!

Postby touchfuzzy » 03 Mar 2009 19:22

First of all, if you have no idea what this thread is about, go here first!

http://gonintendo.com/?p=74503

Alright, this is the official request thread. Post all your requests here, whatever you want to hear for all request Mondays! No limits on number of requests either. I can't guarantee I'll play all of them, but I'll sure try! Thanks guys, keep your eyes (and ears?) open for more episodes!

Hey T-fuzzy!!

Really loving this idea man, hope it lasts..

I really love videogame music. Is one of the firt things I notice about a game and consider it to be one of the key aspects for a game to really set the mood and be complete, so in that note I will be paying as much attention to your show as much as I can.

I also liked you sharing your thoughts on games and news bits.

As far as my request goes.. I got excited when you played Super Gouls n' Ghosts because to me its soundtrack stands out more than the game itself. Not that i'ts a bad game, I like it a lot, but talk about hard..core (loved your choice btw).

I was wondering if you could play the "Ice Forest" theme from that same game. Just that one for now.

Anyways, best of luck.

EDIT:
Oh..one question: Is the request section going to be categorized into eras, like 8-bit and 16-bit eras and so on? or how exactly?

Hey! Thanks for the feedback and requests.

No real guideline for the requests... it'll really depend on how many I get if I can seperate them into different sections or not.

Here is my request:

Kid Icarus tunes (which were made by Hirokazu "Hip" Tanaka, composer of the famous Metroid music that we are all so familiar with).

The music from Kid Icarus are some of the most recognizable and catchy tunes from the NES era.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

I'd like to request "Frog's Theme" From Chrono Trigger, which I believe was composed by Nobou Uematsu, which in my opinion is what angels listen to while making cotton candy, yeah I think it's that good.. Also if you've got space in the show the Moon Theme from Duck Tales would be cool, that songs just plain good.

Please Please Please play the "twilight princess ending theme".

Its amazing and it can honestly bring a tear to my eyes when i close my eyes and just listen. You won't be dissapointed.

Also "the end of thought" from Tales of Symphonia
and "The True Mirror ~ Guitar Version" from Baten Kaitos

These are extremely epic pieces

Thank you so much. Please continue this great idea!

I'd kill to hear anything by Koichi Sugiyama, or at least Dragon Quest stuff.

I'm requesting the intro and credits (Starts at 4:50) to E.V.O.: The Search for Eden, the Overture from DQ (Any version), and Gypsy's Journey from DQ4DS. (All Koichi Sugiyama)

I was also going to request something from Dragon Quest 8, but then I realized that it's never been on a Nintendo system. <_<

Also pet peeve time activated, but it's Nobuo Uematsu, not Nobou. >_> *Expects to be punted in the face*

Suggestion:

Get rid of the "all the news" section. No need for reviews either. We get bombarded with that everywhere else on the internet and don't need to hear the same stuff re-hashed yet again.

Stick with the "features" and music oriented topics...content that won't date the podcasts (i.e. stuff that we could listen to a few years from now and it will still be relevant).

Everything on the podcast that wasn't a current event news item was outstanding.

glad to see so many on board with this! not surprising... how many of us DISLIKE game music??

the original gonintendo podcast was about an hour long, and was roughly half news, half questions. now, it's an hour of news, 10 minutes of questions, and 15-20 of music quiz.

i wonder if there's something else beyond taking requests that could get the community involved like the podcast used to do? yes, it might be tricky since that has the benefit of a full crew, but there must be something! featuring user remixes could be cool, considering VGDJ from OCRemix has been out of commission for over 2 years now :(

and instead of news (which the podcast covers anyway), maybe a moment between some songs for trivia or background info about the game music?

just my two cents :)

Hey guys! Thanks for the requests/feedback so far, it's been excellent.

If you're looking for stuff that's more focused on the music, I have a feature called the artist spotlight that turned out AWESOME. That's in the back half of tomorrow's show, so make sure to check it out. I am always looking for ways to improve the show, so keep the comments and requests coming in! :D

You know what? I'm just going to throw out any of the Symphonic Suites for Dragon Quest music.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_V_6bSLNnHE

Sheer brilliance. (This is one is rather a medley of the songs Intermezzo, Ragnar's theme, Alena's theme, Torneko's theme, Meena and Maya's battle theme, and Meena and Maya's regular theme from DQ4)

As for a request, I'd like to hear more Skies of Arcadia, namely 'Boss Battle (Crisis, Opportunity)' or the 'Main Theme' if possible!

Thanks. :)

Random thought...

Legal issues with using copyrighted music sent over the Internet for free and for anyone to download?

Hey there Touch Fuzzy! I just listened to the first episode before bed last night and loved it! Any chance you could play a song from Bubble Bobble or Ninja Gaiden? Those are 2 of my favorite games from NES. Take it easy and keep up the great work. 8)

"Fair use"...he's not sending out full copies of the songs. He's using small excerpts to promote the music, games and the artists.

I definitely like the idea of replacing the news section with trivia or an artist spotlight.
