I'm new to the forums, so I don't know if this is a good place to ask this, but...

I forget if the past Club Nintendo years had elite status members have the ability to choose their gift later in July or as soon as the month began.

I just want to know if it's normal that this year's gifts haven't been announced yet or Nintendo's just gypping us.

It happens later. Gonintendo will put up a news story when it's available, or you can just keep your eyes on the Club Nintendo site. As of now it says "Elite Gift announcement coming soon. Stay tuned!" on the main page of Club Nintendo. So they aren't gypping us. It just never happens right at the start of July.
