Favorite Mortal Kombat Character.

Despite not playing a Mortal Kombat game since Trilogy on N64, I can't help but get a twinge of nostalgia when I hear about the game returning, in one form or another, to its roots with the upcoming Mortal Kombat for PS3 & 360.

Was just curious what everyone's favorite Mortal Kombat character was/is and if there's any the story behind it.

For myself, it's Kano.

An odd choice, I suppose, but I remember back in...fourth grade, I think it was, I was attending a classmate's birthday. They were playing Mortal Kombat 1 on the computer. Though never playing the game before and competing against kids who actually had, I think I won about four matching in a row before being defeated. Kano was the first character I picked, and did so probably because of his eye, but the character wound up sticking from that point on.

(Imagine my disappointment when he didn't return as a playable character in MKII...but at least I got to see him, regardless if he was a prisoner to Shao Kahn--probably my most reviled MK character.)


He was charming in the movie...er, minus the part where's he's eating a chicken leg in Goro's lair. ...Just wish he hadn't been killed off so easily or in such an embarrassing manner by Sonya.

Reptile, since the second i pulled off the tongue-head-rip-fatality in MKII. Plan on getting the new one as soon as i have some extra cash....

Smoke hands down ever since he was introduced in Mortal Kombat II, though I like his MK 3 cybernetic incarnation.

Three ninja characters in a row--can't say I blame you guys, they're some of the coolest. I've also had an affinity towards Reptile and Smoke (not so much the cybernetic Smoke).

I've never been a fan of Scorpion though (sorry hellfire888). One reason was my two friends at the time both liked Scorpion, so no matter who I played...I was almost always going against Scorpion.

aw man! just kidding.. i think the reason i like scorpion the most is because i'm a very defensive player on mk 2 and 3.. if you can be patient, scorpion and subzero(second fav) can be very deadly.. especially classic subzero in ultimate mk3.. though his combo was crap.... sheeva, now she had a combo.. 42% if i remember correctly.

Kung Lao has to be my favorite. Total badass. Baraka is also pretty fun to play as.

I like the two original (playable) ninjas. Scorpion has the most memorable fatality ever (TOASTYYY!) and Sub-Zero's was just plain vicious. Talking about MK1 btw. Plus ninjas are just badass

I've been asking myself the same question ever since the new MK was announced. It's between Jax, Sektor and Raiden. I can't decide.

Mine favorite is "Scorpion"

Raiden was always my favorite. Followed by Scorpion and Kung Lao. I thought that Fujin guy from the N64 one was pretty cool. I'm not a huge Mortal Kombat fan though, I always liked Street Fighter much better...
