I went with the hat, because I can't help but feel that they INTENTIONALLY held this one level back from the retail game. Sure, I may never be able to face Doc Louis ever, but it's either going to be really easy or really hard (I'm thinking the latter), and quite honestly, while cool, it's a Mario hat...and it'll fit over my freakishly large brain...er...head.

UGH, OMG WHAT DO I CHOOSE?

I'm leaning towards the Mario hat, does anyone know when you get each item respectively?

Damn, I read the email and got all excited about my Mario hat...then I realized that I'm a gold member and not a platinum member. Hello, crappy desk calendar!

I got the game since I know I'll never use the hat, ever.

I can't believe someone in the comments actually guessed the reward would be a Mario Hat... It's like that guy in Nintendo Power who predicted the Wii.

Well, I'm glad I waited on joining CN as I was not very impressed with the prizes. Hopefully, next year's will be better.

The Mario Hat is kinda nice though, I admit!

I got the Doc Louis game cause I have Punch Out!! and really like it.
Plus I can be one of the few people that have it since most people seem to be going for the hat.
I also bought the hanufuda cards as they have been the only decent thing for awhile.
so I have 70 coins and by the end of this year 370 so I still need a couple of more games to reach Platinum status for next year.

I'm sure I never would have worn the Mario hat, but I wanted it anyway. It could sit in my closet next to my Pac-Man hat that I only wear a few times a year when I'm drunk or just feeling goofy.

Not much of a selection of standard prizes.
I don't have a DS so none of the DS prizes interest me nor does the AC cards as I don't own AC games. Here is a video of THe Hanafuda cards if you are interested; that's what I got. You can also find Game and Watch collection vid from there.

I would wear that hat every day walking to work/school and I would say "wakka wakka wakka" the whole time. Is anyone gonna mug somebody wearing that hat? NOPE

Thanks for putting up the video. I really liked the Hanafuda cards. I just ordered them today. I have always wanted to get a set. And they look amazing. Now I just have to save up for the Game&Watch collection.

So is anyone else disappointed that Club Nintendo came back up from maintenance but nothing really new appeared. I guess they fixed problems or something, but i was hoping for some new prizes.

I am quite disappointed myself as well, I was really hoping that they would have new prizes as well, I have all sorts of points and nothing to spend them on currently, at this time I wish they would have stuck with their previous system where they gave away free stuff with some game purchases, they may have not have been big stuff but at least I could have used them more then the stuff currently available.

Metroid Prime Trilogy worth 60 points?!

I had 210 coins and I did "intend to buy" and then I did the survey after purchase and I got 280 after that that mean I got 60 coins added to the 10 bonus "intend to buy" coins.

So it seems like that tacked on 10 extra points since is is basically three wii games.

I got 70 for it.

50 for the game
10 for the survey
10 for the intend-to-get bonus

I haven't really seen anything worthwhile on the prize list yet, I hate to say it, but I'm starting to miss the Euro catalogue!

Do we get game-specific downloads for the ones we register? I think I got a Gunstar Heroes wallpaper for the VC download...

Hmm... I thought doing the survey after purchasing the game was just to get the 50pts.
So if that is worht 10pts then I guess I made a fuss over nothing.

Actually while you do get 70 for MP Trilogy (provided you intended to buy it earlier), this is how the Coin rewards break down for buying and registering MP Trilogy.

0 Coins - Intend to Buy
>> You don't get anything for marking your intent to buy on a game and completing the corresponding Intend to Buy survey.
>> The game is entered into your To-Do List with "Product Registration" set as the task.

+50 Coins - Product Registration
>> You get this upon registering the game and completing the Product Registration survey.
>> The game is entered into your To-Do List for a future task (See: Post-Play Surveys).

+10 Coins - Fulfilling Intend to Buy
>> If you intended to buy and complete Product Registration within the deadline set by Intend to Buy, you get this bonus.

+10 Coins - Quick Registration
>> You get this for registering a game within four weeks following the game's launch in North America.

+10 Coins - Post-Play Survey
>> These are sent out four to six weeks following Product Registration.
>> Games with Post-Plays will have "Post-Play Survey" set as the task in the To-Do List.

To summarize:
0 Coins - Intend to Buy
+50 Coins - Product Regsitration
+10 Coins - Fulfill Intend to Buy
+10 Coins - Quick Registration
+10 Coins - Post-Play Survey

So at the end of it, the total haul will be 80 Coins.
