Does that mean you're going to have 3 3DS systems? Or am I crazy?

Grabbed up Super Mario Land too since I missed the first sale. This thing is basically the definition of portable gaming, even with it's mostly wonky controls. It's one of the things that makes me really wish I could afford an XL, so I could have better buttons(or just a bigger spread so they're not so close together). But even then the controls are more manageable when you realize you don't need the run button 95% of the time. Beat it after my second or third Game Over, not too desperate to try "Underworld" yet, but I used my first Save-State THERE so I can easily switch between Normal and Underground modes.

Otherwise occasionally chomping away at Pokemon Black(getting into the Friendship/Breeding tier of "the Pokemon I haven't evolved yet", which is terrible), and occasionally working through Wario Land and Gaudia Quest. In Wario Land, still trying to do all the stages mostly in order and finding all the treasure/secret-exits before moving to the next level(not because I want to, mostly an OCD attack)...so I'm having some difficulty in the ice area, blah. For Gaudia Quest, finally got my guys up to a high enough level to walk around TheDungeon Level 1 and a bit of Level 2 while mostly-one-shotting everything.

I dropped everything I was doing and started playing "Kid Icarus" for absolutely no reason, with intent on failing and going to bed. But now I am at the 2nd fortress and I don't want to stop. Hahaha... D:

And I am in 3-1 in Super Mario Land's Underworld mode and I have not progressed in anything else.

EDIT:

Okay, so I finished the 2nd Fortress and I am now in Skyworld (3-1) and finally stopped.

I have all weapons (Fire Arrows, Long Bow and Protective Crystal), 2 Treasures, and I am Lv.5 with Lv.3 Strength (so I am purple).

Man, I can't express how stoked I am because, for YEARS I had never grasped how to progress and would get stuck in 1-2 or 1-3, got to the first fortress finally one day, had no mallets or hearts, didn't want to farm for them and I couldn't beat Twinbellows or remember how I got to him after I died, so I gave up. Now that I understand that you can level up (which I did not know) and get all these crazy bonus things (the weapons/upgrades) it's almost a piece of cake and I feel like a fool for missing out all these years. As soon as I beat it, I will pick up Myths & Monsters on the 3DS and I will be PUMPED to get Uprising more than ever, since I still don't have that either.

Finished my 100% run of Sunshine a couple days ago so started up Super Mario 64 today. Again, going for 100%. Currently have 20 stars. Working on clearing Jolly Roger Bay right now (Bob-Omb Battlefield and Whomp's Fortress are done). I think this run will be much shorter than that of Sunshine since I don't have to collect blue coins Haha. Though, tbh I'm not as familiar with Super Mario 64 as I am with Sunshine.

Though, I do need to return to Kingdom Hearts 3D. I'll probably do that later on tonight.

Gah, that's kinda great / kinda humiliating to hear myself, after having been stuck eternally in 1-1, SOMETIMES 1-2 whenever I would 'try' the game(can't remember, but I really don't think I played the original cartridge, but maybe I did once or twice). Almost makes me want to get the 3D Classic version and try it again...but all I can think about is stumbling around, running into tiny-snakes, screen-wrapping back and forth until I got the hang of it, then falling to my death anyway..

Finishing up Metroid Prime Hunters, have one Octolith and one of each expansion type left.

Beat the Mighty Switch Force DLC.

Also bought Magic Pengel for $1.99. Made some horrifying things, and a beta Tingle.

I literally just stood in place everytime I saw the snakes or eyes and would kill them until they stopped spawning (which they do!). Then my only problems were dodging Reapers and platforming.

The rooms with the nose guys were also important (and tough at first, until you get the hang of them) and there is a way to cheat in the Pot rooms so you can get all the treasures in the room.

Doing this in 1-1 prepared me better for 1-2, and I wound up with a barrel/potion bottles from the pot rooms and leveled up my health and attack by the end of 1-2.

Took a lot of patience and figuring out how everything works.

And the Fortress was just me grinding/farming hearts in a room with infinite snakes so I could buy more potions/mallets.

Just beat Knights of the Old Republic for the first time, along with Mass Effect 3 for the 2nd, so I'm probably going to switch to a couple of Nintendo games to play intermixed with my 4th Skyrim character.

Probably gonna go with Eternal Darkness, as I have it (finally) but haven't played it yet. I heard it's half-way decent. And the best thing since chocolate donuts. So I'd say that warrants a looksie.

Beat Super Mario Land, Super Mario Land 2 and Metroid Prime Hunters.

Picked Kirby's Mass Attack back up (I've been at 61%, not moving on until getting all Medals and Gold in a stage) and remembered why I quit. Keep getting hit at stupid spots/can't get a Gold Star in Stage 6 of Dedede's Resort. >:|

EDIT: More importantly, I just beat Kid Icarus. FINALLY. HOLY CRAP.

Lv.5 (MAX) Endurance, Lv.4 Strength (Red Pit) and all weapons & treasures. Got the ending where Pit becomes a Guard Captain.

Currently in the New Game+ thing, now Lv.5 Strength (MAX; Blue Pit) and I am in the Underworld Fortress. Aiming to get the Best Ending this time. SO HAPPY. FINALLY BEAT IT.

Got back into SMG2 a tiny bit, finally got some comet medals that had me stumped FOREVER, and I just never wanted to look them up. It's a 2010 game, and I still haven't gotten to the infamous green-star bit. Now I'm a bit closer at 106 stars, but I have some annoying things to do in order to get them(like get comets to actually appear and all that). Then again I still haven't finished DKC:R either, got tired around the factory levels like I usually do. Trying to get back into Minecraft, but as usual, needing to close every program in order to run it means I have to make a special appointment to play it, and I just never do.

Playing NSMB2 (physical version) and The Last Story for Wii. I'm about an hour in The Last Story. I'm enjoying the game so far even if there are some tech problems here and there. The problems don't kill my desire to keep playing the game.

I've also got multiplayer unlocked. I hope to have some online matches sometime.

I just got Rayman Origins and The Last Story in the mail, but I have to finish some backlog first.

Currently playing Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, Kirby Mass Attack, Rayman (1) and Fluidity.

Rayman and Kirby are most of the way done, Fluidity I am in Chapter 2 and got the sticking ability. Order of Ecclesia I have no idea. Last major boss I fought was the crab, and I just went through a cave of skeletons and am before a potential boss room.

Don't worry, I'm in your boat. I unlocked Luigi said "NOW THE REAL FUN STARTS" and started playing a different game for no reason. I don't even think I have 100 Stars.

And I stopped somewhere in DKCR due to one of the challenge levels where you get the orbs at the end. Picked it back up at the end of last year and beat it 100%, but haven't gone back for the Reverse mode and didn't even bother with time trials. That game is too hard for me to even bother trying to get the best times.

Yeah I switched to Luigi too, but I get the feeling that it means nothing until you get to the green stars anyway, oh well.

Man, I don't think I even came across any info on reverse mode, interesting. And schyeah, I tried time trials maybe once or twice, did everything nearly PERFECT, and I was like five seconds off. Maybe I'd try again if there was any reward to it, but I doubt it.

Also randomly started up Body Harvest again. It's funny how one moment I can get SLAUGHTERED and the next I one-shot that particular area without much trouble. Then I drive off a dead-end cliff by accident, run face-first into a stationary massive-gun alien, and last like two seconds before I'm ripped to shreds. The only bad part about that is that save-points are nearly 30 to 50 minutes away from each other(by distance and quest/battle-events), so after spending nearly an hour being vaguely invincible, you lose it all in a matter of seconds for taking a wrong turn at Albuquerque. I love that game.

Yeah. Other than my personal preference of Luigi, all he really does is unlike Time Trials if you redo all the stages that didn't ask you to play him the first time, which is cool, but unnecessary.

And the reverse mode is unlocked I *think* after you do everything 100%. Or maybe you just have to beat all the K stages with the orbs at the end. I forget, since I made a point to do both simultaneously before beating it. All it is is a Mirror Mode, but it has its own percent and you can get 100% all over again, but going the other direction.

jasonmaivia wrote:I WAS playing Indigo Prophecy, but I beat it, and am now forever done with that game.

My god. That game.

I had beaten it waaaay long ago and I was redoing it, showing my girlfriend and I got to the part where you have the flashback and have to sneak behind the trucks and I was like HOW THE HELL DID I DO THIS THE FIRST TIME? Infuriating.

It took me two hours to figure it out. I really hated that part.
I didn't know that there was a whole in the gate, past where the trucks are leaving. I thought they meant where you climbed at. Then the part after that also got me wanting to throw my controller.

I also hate all of the Simon sequences that goes on for far too long. A lot of them weren't necessary and ALL of them should have been cut down to about 1/5 the length.

The game should have stayed as a murder mystery/detective game and kept things a bit more believable with a small sci-fi twist, but instead there's Superman powers, crazy monsters, living A.I., "I Iove you for no god dang reason, Mr. Murderer. I know that we briefly met once before...let's have sex on a trainI", and all of that OH NOES THE WHOLE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END crap.

I've haven't played Heavy Rain yet, and I hope it doesn't end up this crazy.

Ah man, the Simon sequences. My biggest problem with those were: 1. Like you said, too long. 2. They made it impossible to see what was actually happening on the screen since you needed to focus on the minigame.

It also really took away from what was otherwise a decent game.

And yeah, that game was fantastic until about halfway through when you turn into a balding homeless man with super powers. The story fell apart, got too crazy, didn't make sense anymore, and it lost all of the cool innovative parts from the gameplay. Sucked.

I liked the game, but man... that later half just ruined my being able to call it a favorite or anything.

I haven't played Heavy Rain yet either, but as far as I know, it's not like Indigo Prophecy/Farenheit in how it crashes into zany sci-fi sex magic.

Trudging through Order of Ecclesia and Kirby Mass Attack.

Ecclesia is great, but I always get stuck at every boss. Haha.

Kirby Mass Attack I am finally in World 4 after a year of sitting in 3. I've been making a point to not progress until I get Gold Star/All Medals in a stage, and I was trapped in a level in Dedede's Resort, unable to get Gold or the last medal. Drove me insane and gave up. NOW, all 3 worlds are complete (overall game is like 70-80% now). Halfway through world 4. Feels good. Haha.

What did you do for 3 years? Play old games and handhelds?

Could've sent it to Nintendo. Mine crspped out because of Other M's dual-layer. Sent it to them, they told me HAS TRACES OF HOMEBREW. UNFIXABLE. Sent it back in less than a week, but they fixed it and renewed the warranty anyway. I also sent an angry e-mail to them when they said there was homebrew and it was unfixable. Not sure if that did anything. There was no homebrew and hadn't been for half a year and I barely even used it, and it wasn't for pirating, hence my angst. Haha.
