GOTY: Your Top 5

Now that 2011's finally rolling to a close I thought it'd be interesting to hear what your favourite games this year were. Two of mine I only got for Christmas but I've sunk enough time in to be confident of their places. Here's my top 5:

1) LoZ: Skyward Sword
2) Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
3) Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
4) Portal 2
5) Rayman Origins

Probably worth noting I haven't played Batman: AC, Super Mario 3D Land, Xenoblade or Dead Space 2 yet. Or Catherine (which comes out next year for us).

I've been having difficulty with my list. I really don't know how to organize it for me....I'll list 5 games, but in no particular order...

Skyward Sword, Skyrim, Batman Arkham City, Star Wars The Old Republic, and Super Mario 3D Land (iffy about this one)

So hard to choose...so many games.

In this order:

1) The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
2) Portal 2
3) The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
4) Deus Ex: Human Revolution
5) Super Mario 3D Land

Some runner-ups: Dead Space 2, Battlefield 3, Minecraft, L.A. Noire and Mortal Kombat.

Note I haven't played some of this year's bigger games though, like Arkham City, UC3, Sonic Generations, GOW3, Assassin's Creed, The Old Republic and any others I might be forgetting.

I'm of course not 100% certain. The two games that blew me away the most were Skyrim and Portal 2, and I'm absolutely certain of their positions. Below that though... I dunno. Zelda was terrific, and I loved it, but it was a letdown in some respects, so it's definitely not at the top of the list. 3D Land was also really great, but it's a portable game so it's more of a streamlined experience anyway.

there's a handful that I haven't had the chance to play very much or at all... oh well:

5 - Killzone 3

4 - The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (not finished yet, could move it higher)

3 - Portal 2

2 - Super Mario 3D Land

1 - Batman: Arkham City

Some honorable mentions: Mortal Kombat, Pushmo, Forza Motorsport 4, Ocarina of Time 3D. Close to putting Dead Island and/or Rage here, but they pissed me off a few too many times.

Also, I've barely scratched the surface of Skyrim, so I couldn't bring myself to put it on this list.

I'm not sure I've played 5 games I really like this year, that also came out this year. Skyward Sword is not on this list because I've played less than an hour of it so far.

5: Dance Dance Revolution 2

4: LoZ: Ocarina of time 3D

3: Portal 2

2: Rock Band 3 (because even though it was a 2010 game I played it for much of 2011)

1: Super mario 3D Land
