Take a look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gH3dc7IZVPc

I'm not dissing the psp, mind you (heck I own one!). I'm just surprised that a game with such load times would be allowed to be shipped to consumers.

Dear lord!

This device is portable, you say?

Staring out window of bus > Trying not to look at drunk across from you > Thinking completely pointless, random drivel > Sitting there, waiting for that to load.

You can blame this as much on lazy developers as on the PSP hardware. GTA is a game well known for load times, but RockStar did a great job wtih the PSP version and it has very short load times. If GTA can get you from the start to playing in 30 seconds there is no excuse for other games to be this sloppy with load times.

One of the worst games for loading times is GTA, this doesn't even compare.

I only know of like 2 Nintendo games that even have loading screens.

I hate it even more when it loads the loading screen.

Lol, I know. "Oh, it must've been loading the loading screen." If their loading screens weren't as complicated, maybe they wouldn't have that problem.

The PS2 versions of GTA take about 2-3 minutes tops. The PSP version of GTA takes about 30 seconds. This game is a disaster and THQ only cared about rushing it to market for a quick profit. There are plenty of DS games that show the same rushed to market lack of care. I hate that Sony and Nintendo give approvals to games that are so obviously unfinished.

that would never happen ever, on any system. this has to be the longest waiting time ever created.

Yeah and while you're at the bus and someone asks you "what are you playing" "me? I'm playing the loading/waiting game" "and what's that all about?" "Wait and see...." :P
