So... I'm playing Final Fantasy 8 and I get to the point where it asks me to switch to disc 4. I do as it says and things seem okay at first... until it says "wrong disc!" So I tried a few more times to see if it's a problem with the PS1. Eventually I just turn it off and try by putting in the disc fresh. Now I get a message saying "Please insert a PlayStation format disc." Utterly baffled, I try again on my PS2 and it says the same thing (only adding "PS2 format" to that as well).
What the hell does this mean?! This is seriously ticking me off, because with FF7 I get a used copy that sometimes screws up on disc 2 (though I was still able to beat the game regardless), and now with FF8, a game that came to be brand new and sealed when it arrived, and yet for some reason I happen to get a copy where disc 4 is screwed up in some fashion. I mean what the hell happened?!
So what should I do, return it to Amazon to get a replacement copy, or should I contact Square and see if they'll do anything?
