If it was truly dead it would have been locked. Plus I'll leave it to the actual mods to decide whats important and not important enough of my post to be deleted.

The mods are not going to waste their time going though and locking old threads. That's why the rule exists. They trust that people are intelligent enough to tell when a thread is dead, and unless you have something absolutely vital to contribute, you're supposed to leave them that way. By bumping old threads you push active threads down, which annoys everyone.

for what it's worth, i do still have the (incorrect) copy. i don't remember if i noticed the difference right when i got home, or after i had started opening the plastic wrap. i remember picking up the copy from their in-store pickup, and it had an invoice/order form covering the front, and all i could see was the back, which just said R&C, so i thought nothing of it. but i did start opening it, and it was at that point that any claims or exchanges became impossible according to BB. oh well. guess i'll chalk the whole thing up as a cherry on my severance package from their corporate HQ the year before.

Wrong. There are plenty of "dead" threads that are not locked. The vast majority of them actually. Only "news articles" get auto locked, not forum threads. Depending on how long the thread has been "dead", the importance of the post will vary. In this case the thread was more than two years old and all you added was your opinion on what he should do when he obviously already did it. Like Tingle said above, unless it is vital to add to the thread, let the "dead" threads rest in peace.

No, it sounded like you just read the OP.

Mirr0rR3flection wrote:He keep it in the end which is why I said "which I'm sure you did".
You could have easily read that part after the fact.

I'm not trying to be rude to you in any way, so please don't take my posts as such. Just explaining the rules. :)

On topic: Like others have said before hand, I would have kept it as well. Probably wouldn't have even tried to explain it was the wrong copy. lol

As much as its the "right thing to do". A corpartion like Best Buy isnt the type of Company to always have your back if there's something you need help with. Especially when it comes to videogame policies at their stores. I say keep it, they messed up, now its time for them to hold that L in their chest.
