Fallout 3 level cap

Postby Inkies19 » 08 Feb 2009 23:08

Is it just me or is anyone else mad that we don't get a raise in the level cap until the LAST dlc!!

I've done almost all that i can do and so unless Broken Steel is some mega package i dont think i will get to level 30 and that makes me mad because i dont feel like starting over

Anyone else a little mad about this?

I think Bethesda is on record in saying that having level-caps was a mistake they wouldn't implement in any of their future games.
So you aren't the only one that sees it as a downside.
Now Playing:
World of Goo [Wii] - Game of the Year 2008!!!
Starcraft: Brood War [PC] - Those damned Zerg!

I for one respect that they recognized it was a problem and are working on fixing it. That's more than I can say about some games that are released with problems, but are too stuck up themselves to admit it was a problem (*cough*TooHuman*cough*). The DLC side-stories and extra content are looking great.

Bethesda has proven themselves to be a competent developer. :)
More interesting things to be put in this spot at a future date, whenever I can think of what I want to put. Hopefully this space will be filled with something interesting before Duke Nukem Forever releases on the Phantom.

If you got the PC version, mods have already fixed this problem I'm quite sure(Gogo PC version!).

I don't use it myself though, Fallout is a smaller game compared to Oblivion, and it seems to encourage multiple play-throughs. I'm on my third character at the moment, unlike Oblivion, I sort of enjoy making a character, throwing 20-40 hours at it, then switching it up to something new. Level-cap helps with that I think, as well as the way the skill system is set up.

yeah i had noticed this change in Oblivion. I personally do not like it because in Morrowind i loved being able to advance my character as much as possible. I have the same problem in Oblivion and Fallout.

i stopped playing fallout 3 just a short time after i level capped and i'm sure i'll pick it up here and there trying to make it to the end but i don't think i'll play it seriously until they raise the cap . luckily that's not so far off!

Yeah, it's pretty stupid, and it kind of defeats the replayability of the game after you beat all of the missions and quests. I guess the only upside is that they learned from it and it more than likely won't be implemented again. ;)
