Well, the other day I finally beat the ever glorious Assassin's Creed, cursing the ending and wishing that Ubisoft Montreal has at least a couple people working on the next one all the while. Anyways, I know this game is probably the exact definition of a mixed reception game, so I figure it should be good for a discussion!
Personally, I'm on the side with the folks screaming about it being the greatest thing ever. I think they nailed absolutely every aspect of the game. Loved the sci-fi plot with the historical setting and characters, loved the voice acting, loved those big open cities without load times, wonderful soundtrack, fantastic visuals, and that's not even to speak of the gameplay.
The reviews I think mostly blasted the repetetive nature of the gameplay, although I found that much like running over hookers in GTA, it's fun no matter how many times you do it! Roof hopping, delivering daggers to the neck, that gameplay as well as it's intriguing storyline kept me playing constantly to completion. I don't complete games too often, so I feel it's a testement to how good Assassin's Creed is to me.
Anyways, enough of mine own ramblings, what did you guys think of the game? I played it on the PC(Hence the forum), but any opinions would be welcome for the other platform versions.
