A new Fire Emblem...remake!?

Postby Gulshog » 25 May 2010 07:13

Fire Emblem is probably my favorite Nintendo franchise, and it looks like we'll be getting a remake of Fire Emblem 3, on the DS. The great guys and gals over at NeoGaf have explained that it's the remake of a remake, though. But, I've only had the chance to play very few Fire Emblem games...so I'm overjoyed with any new release.

I finished Shadow Dragon a long time ago, and can't wait to get this game. Supposedly Shadow Dragon, and this new game, were actually an original remake. Intelligent Systems split that remake up, and are now remaking it again (Shadow Dragon was Book 1, and this game was Book 2). A little cheap, but as I said...I haven't gotten a chance to play any of them, so I'm excited. It is a bit ridiculous for long time fans, though.

Love that Fire Emblem music at the end, so good!

I think I may have bought Shadow Dragon for GBA, but never played it...I need to catch up on Fire Emblem.

i just heard about this. AWESOME. i was hoping this would happen. huge FE fan. so psyched. i'm guessing they're going to have a transfer-stats feature, which would also be awesome.

I hope so...it's one of the very few games I actually finished last year.

Shadow Dragon was rather disappointing for a remake.

I would prefer it if Mystery of the Emblem is updated to at least the GBA/GC mechanics, (no Rescue really hurts), and although it's a stretch, return to the GBA visuals.

I didn't expect much out of SD considering it was a NES game redressed with DS visuals, but it showed that the franchise's early days weren't that great to begin with.

Marth is amazing. >_>

I still haven't beaten Shadow Dragon. Is it that I suck at the Fire Emblem series? All of my characters are like 1-2 levels higher then my friend and hes already at the end of the game!

I just hope they put the effort into the storyline and characters like they did with Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem GBA. Not that Shadow Dragon sucked, but after playing it I realized how much the writing and character interaction kept me playing the other games.

Why should they? FE needs a good mascot, and, quite frankly, one character being in one game does not serve Nintendo. Plus, the purpose of giving players only a portion of the plot is silly.

I have a good feeling that this might be the last of the FE remakes, and it will be followed by an FE to follow this one starring Marth. Though I suppose Roy as a co-star with an FE remake would be alright.

Roy is more of a mascot than Marth in every way.Heck, Roy's appearance in Super Smash Bros. Melee sparked more interest into the Fire Emblem series from western gamers.I'm sick of seeing Gal Guy Marth all over the place.Even that guy from Sacred Stones would be better than Marth. No Ike plz.

I don't get it. Marth had every bit to do with the sparked interest as Roy did.

But still, ever since playing FE GBA I really do want to see his game. It's kinda aggravating to have a character show up in a game like Melee and then have Nintendo release games from that series that don't include them. Cept for recently with Shadow Dragon.

have people seen the latest rumored/details? http://serenesforest.net/fe3ds/info.html

My Unit customisation
You can set the following:
Name
Class -
Males can choose from Mercenary, Knight, Cavalier, Fighter, Archer or Mage.
Females can be a Myrmidon, Pegasus Knight, Cavalier, Archer or Mage.
Appearance - This includes 13 hairstyles, 10 hair colours and 10 types of eyes. There are even Mohawk and Afro hairstyles. You can set eyes to be closed or have eyepatches, and there are also mouth masks.
You can choose your character's past, present and future (probably affects your stat growth) -
Past: Merchant's child, Cleric's child, Orphan, Farmer's child, Noble's child
Present: Beautiful, Wise, Diverse, Strong
Future: Humanitarian, Truth-seeker, Recluse

i think it stinks that they seem to have the unit types separated by gender. where's the male wyvern knight or the male myrmidon? ooh, i want to be a cleric's child. hahaha.

Roy's game wasn't even out yet by the time Melee came out, he was put in to market FE6 before its release. Marth is more of a mascot because he was there from the start of the franchise and had two games to his credit at the time of Melee's release.
