Ok, so imagine using those pins in 3d, 3rd person view, with a look similar to PS2's kingdom hearts or the new kid icarus's land battles. That'd be cool, right?

Now, you would see both battles on the top screen, with your interface instead on the bottom. No, the screen wouldn't be split up-the game plays both realities at the same time, ONE FOR EACH EYE. There wouldn't be 3d, of course.

For example, if you were to close only your right eye, you could see Neku fighting. If you were to close only your left, you could see Shiki. Having both eyes open would have you see both fighting at the same time, in the same place, which would be similar to paying attention to the top and bottom screen at the same time in the original.

If both of your eyes were open, it might look like this.

Otherwise, your left eye sees Sora and your right eye sees Kid Icarus!

I kind of like the idea, but I have trouble keeping my left eye closed and my right one open, and I dunno, this also sounds potentially nausea inducing. I'd still probably play it though, even if I had to pause every five seconds to hurl. But I think I'd really much rather have a straightforward sequel that extends the top/bottom ideas of the original and makes the top battles really cool with 3-D elements.

Yeah, I see your point, but then only one fight would have 3d. I just want to see them mix up the dual reality approach that they had in the first game. This would be an interesting way.
Of course, my way has no 3d at all, but w/e.
Don't kill me, please. The last time I died, I didn't enjoy it all that much. Sorry.

Am I the only one who is going to play 99% of my games with the 3D slider off...completely?

Anyway, your idea makes total sense, and is actually quite intriguing to me. It is the only idea I have heard utilizing the left and right projected image of the 3D screen, that has even interested me. I don't think anyone would ever have the stones to make a game like this, though...too innovative.

The only thing is that it might make people sick too easily, as LuigiGBA said. I just don't know...handhelds give me headaches sometimes as it is...
