RUMOR: 3DSXL for E3 2012

A new model for the 3DS, which will have a larger screen, amounting to an increase of 1.5 times the size it is now (4.3 inches). Summer 2012.

Not convinced, I seriously doubt Nintendo would release another revision, especially with all that has happened with the 3DS

I can see this happening Alright, it's probably why Nintendo are having two conferences this e3, tomorrow will probably be about the Wii U and Wednesday will be about the 3DS software and possible revision. Hope we get a release date for Luigi's Mansion 2!

Nintendo will always release handheld revisions. It is just a matter of "when" they will do so. I think the smart thing to do would be to spread the launch of the revision and the wii u so that they won't have increased earnings for one quarter, and then drop the next. They want a steady increase. If Wii U is November launch I wouldn't expect 3DS XL until mid to late 2013.

If they do a revision I hope they fix the lower screen so it don't scratch the top one as well as make the a button far more durable!

I had no intentions of buying a redesign, based on my expectations of what they'll change. The 3DS is really the most "complete" first design that Nintendo's made yet. An XL option, and I do mean option because bigger screens (and bigger price) aren't automatically making anything obsolete, an XL option seems much more plausible to me than a redesign.

Though, if they keep separating their releases like that, the people that prefer the trade-offs of the XLs will figure out they should wait to buy, which just looks bad to publishers, developers, and investors.

If we can transfer all the game and the ambassador progam from a classic 3ds to a Xl 3ds, maybee i'll be getting one, but that is not my priority.

Well, honestly, I don't see what the big deal is...just trying to get information out there. People clicking the link would see it's a rumor/or whatever. I like getting information to people, but if it's such a big damn deal then I won't be posting here ever again.
