Nintendo 3DS XL Confirmed

Whats better then one screen? Well two screens of course! Current-gen portables inside: DS, Lite, DSi, DSXL, 3DS...

Personally, I think that in about a year, they'll stop making the 3ds. I don't wanna feel old

I could be mistaken, but aren't the photos and videos stored on the SD Card anyway, just like music?

You have got it all wrong. They will continue to make the original 3DS along side the XL. The only reason this is possible is because it doesn't have any extra control options. The only thing people have to decide on are which size they prefer. Think of it as DSi and DSi XL coexisting. They are the same thing, they are just different sizes.

Man. I feel like such a sucker.

I'm just gonna get red at launch and when white or some other color release in NA (if ever) I'll buy a new one, transfer again, and sell the red one. damn it :(

I heard you can only do 3DS transfers up to 5 times... is that true? Ridiculously stupid if so.

I like how the inside is all black, no matter what color system you get! I didn't like the two toned look, so that's why I bought the black 3ds! Now, if this comes in green, I will buy it the day it is released! Otherwise, I'll just have to pick a color near the end of the system's life.

I don't know if it looks like trash, but i think it does look kind of clunky, if that makes sense. It looks too big, and the non-shiny plastic on the outside makes it look like a kid's toy almost. I prefer the normal 3ds, but I could understand getting this one for the improved battery life.

Honestly, I don't love the look of the new system either, but I know that won't matter when I look into those big screens! I loved the Dsi XL, and felt strange looking at a smaller screen when 3ds came out!

Really? I think the machine looks beautiful, especially White and Silver/Black. Red isn't terrible either! Reminds me of my old DS lite :)

Blue is pretty bad though, and when (if) it released I'm going for white or a special edition/new color. Getting red (hopefully) at launch day.

On the fence.

-I can understand why they didn't add in a second circle pad (to prevent "Is this a new-new system?" plus those extra shoulder buttons) but they should've just added one for the sake of lefties. Which I am. :? Plus, our we going to see the Circle Pad Pro XL? Really?
+Screens are HUGE! Slightly smaller than Vita's OLED screen, but bigger than the majority of smart phones available which made me surprised that Nintendo went that big. Yay!
-Gray circle pad. You look fine if the rest of you is coated black, but you need to die a colored death in every other case.
+That 1:1 mode for VC and DS games sounds very, very good right now.
-The battery life is slightly longer. I expected more and it seems that if you're not playing on the lowest brightness setting, you'll hardly tell the difference otherwise.
+Once you open the system up, it looks great!
-But once you close the system, it looks incredibly cheap and Fisher Price-y. It looks fine if the whole system is black or white, but since North America is only getting the Red/Black and Blue/Black variation for launch, seems like they only coated the outer top shell (minus the hinge) with color like the DS Lite versions.... which to me looks terribly cheap.
-Do the colors available indicate the death of fun colors (Aqua Blue!) and three layers of color tones for the XL versions?

Gray Circle Pads? My eyes are telling me that they are different colors, with white having light gray and black having dark gray. Maybe my eyes deceive me, but they definitely look matching with the systems.

And I can definitely see where the toy comment is coming from... white (and the eventual black + other solids) looks sleek and great, and the others look toy-like, blue especially. Maybe when I get the red it will look better, and I expect it to, but I reeeally wanted that white :(

And Aqua Blue was a sin against humanity, that color was. Who thought it was a good idea to make the top a mirror?!? (Same thing with the red one, smh)

The thing about DS games pretty much seals the deal for me, I am down for buying one. Probably get the Blue and Black.

I think I prefer the look of the 3DS XL to the original...mainly for the more uniform interior coloring. I hate how the top and bottom are different colors on the original 3DS. It's one of the reasons I went with the black model.

I also prefer the softer overall look of the system created by the rounded edges and matte finish. Glossy stuff is great but gets nasty real quick after you so much as touch it.

This may be a Day 1 buy for me, It's sexiness is too much to resist. One thing that always bothered me about the Vanilla 3DS is that the Edges where too sharp which made extended play difficult and also the gloss, will companies stop using GLOSS!

This is great if you are far sighted, which I am so I'll probably trade in my 3DS for the XL, it looks great, I just really wish they had also done more in the creation of this redesign, but my eyes will be grateful.

Now that they confirmed there will be a Circle Pad Pro attachment, I'm more likely to get one now. One problem: I won't be able to trade in my original 3DS towards the purchase. According to Nintendo, you still need your original system so you can perform a data transfer. If only stores would be kind enough to let you transfer data the moment you buy the system, so long as you give them the old one the moment you're finished, that'd be nice, but I don't think any stores will allow that.

That Blue 3DSXL is mine, at least when I get the money lol. I'm quite looking forward to getting it actually, will be a huge upgrade for me personally. I don't have the best eyesight, humongous hands, 3D is meant to be improved (can't go wrong there) also I like it when she packs a load in the trunk ;D

Exactly. If I could transfer data right in the store, I might buy the 3ds XL, but since I can't, I'm gonna skip the 3ds XL and save up for the Wii U.

Ignoring the obese booty above ( lol ), I did just get an idea: the SD Card. Now, when it comes to system transfers, do you HAVE to use the "system transfer" feature located in the system settings menu, or can you simply insert an older SD Card into the system and transfer everything over that way? Even your profile?

I hope so, this will make deciding when to get a 3DS XL easier.

Everything you buy on the eShop, all your friend-codes, coins, the Mii-Lobby and all that stuff is hardware-bounded. You can just transfer your safe-data and everything via SD Card, but all your presonal 3DS-stuff is hardware-bundled and woulnd't work that easy on an other 3DS.
The System transfer is needed
