Can I have 2 3DS with the same account?

First of all my apologies if this question has been answered already, I couldn't find information about it. So, I just got my first 3DS back (repaired) and I was wondering... can I have 2 3DS with my account information and my games from the Nintendo Store? I know I can do a transfer between 3DS but is there a way to not empty the "older 3DS"? They just announced the new 3DS XL... Is this console also going to have locked up games? I'm asking because I like the bigger 3DS XL but I really don't think I will like to carry that monster with me...

At the moment, there is no way to do this. To prevent a situation where one person is buying all the games and their friends are getting them for free without buying them, the only thing you can currently do is empty one 3DS into another. I can't see them changing this anytime soon either, sadly!

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately you are right there are people that will abuse the system. Anyway I wonder if they will change that system for the release of the 3DS XL because I like they idea of having the 3DS XL on the house and the regular one on the game but if you can't have the same games... I wish the let you use 2 with the same info.

once nintendo gets an account based system in place for the wii u and 3ds it would be easy for them to make this possible with no worries about abuse. if they did this they might go back to the system they had for gamecube where the system was auto registered at time of purchase. but they could do it in a number of different ways. The only question is if they will want to allow it. if nothing else, they should allow us to easily move games back and forth between any systems registered to our accounts. I'D prefer simultaneous usage, but even juggling a single license would be bearable if it was easy to bounce the licenses for individual games around as often as we want.

I agree. At least is not as bad as the Vita transfer. I own a Vita and the way that the system manage this subject is ridiculous. If I leave my copy of the game to a friend he has to choose between deleting my save or not getting trophies. I don't want to troll against Sony but it feels like loyal costumers get punished.
Anyway I'm excited about the 3DS XL there are so many games that I want to play on that huge screen!
