Next VC titles confirmed for the Nintendo eShop!

Whats better then one screen? Well two screens of course! Current-gen portables inside: DS, Lite, DSi, DSXL, 3DS...

It doesn't make sense cause you can already get Pearl, Diamond, Platinum, Heart Gold, Soul Silver, or White and Black, with Black 2 and White 2 coming in just a few months.

Why release Red or Blue for $5+ when you can make more with the ones already on the market?

If Heart Gold is a remake of Crystal, isn't Flame Red a remake of Yellow? And I understand Yellow had the special Pikachu, but Crystal had its own special additions, like the addition of a female character and the revamping of the Ruins of Alph.

And why not release Red or Blue for $5+? It's not like anyone would say, "I already have Pokemon Red on the Virtual Console, so I'm not buying Pokemon Pearl, Diamond, Platinum, Heart Gold, etc." Instead, most Pokemon fans would buy Pokemon Black/White 2 AND Pokemon Red, which makes Nintendo even richer. And that's all that Nintendo wants. Plus, Nintendo has to do virtually nothing to re-release Red, Blue etc. They don't have to make any changes to it, just put it up for sale and watch it sell like crazy. It would be stupid for Nintendo to not sell Pokemon Generations 1 and 2 on the Virtual Console. It's pretty much free money for them.

Why does it make sense to release most of the stuff that will be VC?

Putting a ROM up for $5 to net some easy cheap cash for more money than the ROM is even worth makes perfect sense. Nostalgic fanboys will eat that up.

Just like spamming the NSMB games with as many nostalgic things as possible. OH MAN, TANOOKI/RACCOON SUIT? SUPER MARIO WORLD MAP? BABY YOSHI? KOOPA KIDS?

And the fact there were even remakes of RBY and GSC in the first place. It's for nostalgia since they know people will buy them on that alone.

And that's the reason NSMB even exists.

Pretty much this.

Nobody's going to go "OH, I AM NOT GOING TO BUY THE DS GAMES SINCE I CAN GET THE ORIGINAL ON eSHOP" and nobody is going to be like "WELL, SINCE I HAVE THE DS GAMES, WHY WOULD I PLAY THE ORIGINALS" except Kafei.

Most people would buy the originals, as stupid as it may seem to given the better options and remakes.

As for the HG/SS being a remake of Crystal, it is. And FR/LG is sort of a remake of Yellow (it retains most enhancements), but it omits all of the references to the anime, so it's not entirely the same.

In Yellow you get all 3 starters AND Pikachu, Pikachu follows you and you fight Jessie/James and the Gym Leaders have teams from the show (meaning they suck).

A re-release is HIGHLY UNLIKELY.

Why is it so unlikely? You could never finish the game! The point of Pokemon is to "Catch'em All" Always has been. Without Nintendo changing the game to either make all pokemon available in one game OR so that you can trade and battle with friends on the 3DS you could never complete the game.

Either of those options would take money and time. Which would mean they would need to raise the price of the VC version. I would imagine it would be around $7-10 maybe more. We all know how Nintendo likes to make money "Day one".

So again, why would Nintendo waste the time and money when there is ZERO guarantee they would make the money spent back when (once again) they already have several BETTER Pokemon games on the system already and currently in stores. With more in the pipeline!

They had no problem making it so Four Swords, a GBA game, could play wirelessly with other DS and 3DS systems when it didn't support it. And they added single player and 18 new stages (6 new sets of 3) and moves.

And they gave that out for FREE with NO money gained back for making those additions.

So at worst, Nintendo would hand it off to Grezzo to add the ability to trade/battle wirelessly to it. And if you want to go "WELL THEY DID THAT FOR ZELDA'S ANNIVERSARY", the 20th anniversary for Pokemon is coming up in 4 years, so that would be reason enough to do something like that (and they don't have to wait that long, because the FireRed/LeafGreen remakes were made to celebrate 10th Anniversary, even though they came out on the series' 8th Anniversary; We're almost at the 10th Anniversary of the remakes, though).

Not to mention, most people didn't catch 'em all anyway and that's not the only point of the game, that was just how they marketed it to get people to get both versions. They'd still be able to play and beat it even if they didn't add training. Heck, even now you can't complete some of the Pokedexs in the DS games unless you owned previous DS games or the GBA games unless you use the GTS.

And while I wouldn't spend $7-10 on a port of a game I already own, you're silly if you don't think people will when they had no problem spending $10 on My Pokemon Ranch and they are probably going to buy the Pokedex 3D Pro/Dream Radar (which is solely for 3 FORMS).

I would pay well over $10 a piece for Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal with wireless or single system trading. Just saying.

I guess it would depend.

And if my girlfriend got one of them, I would feel compelled to get the other so we could trade/play together.

And the fact my Red is broken and Blue is taped to the wall as a trophy. No idea what is going on with Yellow. I think it is in my closet.

So maybe I would, but I would personally hope they weren't that expensive. But I mean, it's better than spending money on My Pokemon Ranch or Pokemon Box... or $15 on Pokedex 3D Pro.

Okay let's just all say that Pokemon Red and Blue made an appearance on the eshop. If I bought both games, will I be able to trade with myself? Or will I have to purchase Red on one 3DS and Blue on another 3DS.

THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS THAT HAUNT ME!

In the hypothetical situation that they add Red and Blue to the eShop, I would be incredibly surprised if they allowed you to trade with yourself (even if you owned both versions)

I don't see how that would be possible to begin with considering the system can't run two games at once.

You'd need it on a separate 3DS.

As it should be, since you're supposed to be trading with *other* people anyway. Sucks if everyone buys Red though. And Yellow wouldn't remedy this since it's still missing Pokemon.

You'd also have a fun time (NOT) getting Mew.

They could release Pokemon Stadium at the same time and have a way to sync with the 3DS while in sleep mode. Or they could do it like Pokemon Battle Revolution and take a snap shot of your boxes when it starts up. But this would likely drive the prices way up, though it is Pokemon we are talking about so its not like they wouldn't be making money hand over fist at launch or shortly after.

OH GOD.

IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!

I doubt Wii would get it, but Wii U VC. I demand Pokemon Stadium with the 3DS as the Transfer Pak.

I've been debating Tumble Pop.

Only VC game I currently have is Metroid 2 (which I completed with everything but 2 Missile Expansions and in literally just under 5 hours).

I'm also considering the Mario Land titles, Game & Watch Galleries, Kirby (except Dream Land, since I am gonna get the Collection), Maru's Mission, Kid Icarus 2, and a few others. It sucks because I want TONS of things on eShop, but they're all going to add up...

Maru's Mission is awful, don't get it. The controls are broken and you'll beat it in literally 40 minutes.
