Quick question

Whats better then one screen? Well two screens of course! Current-gen portables inside: DS, Lite, DSi, DSXL, 3DS...

Quick question

Postby baba944 » 09 Jul 2012 06:28

Hi I had my 3DS for 4 months now, and I read in one of the comments in a different website that I can upgrade my 3DS to a 3DS XL due to the warranty. Is that true?

No, your warranty only covers replacing or repairing your current 3DS should it break. There's no such thing as an upgrade; the best you could do is sell your 3DS or trade it in.

I wish that were true, unfortunately that's not the case. If warranty only covers damage of the console and loss if you have insurance on it. Imagine getting a free 3DSXL just for trading in your previous one? Nintendo wont be making but loosing money, just think about that.

I think you could get $135-$150, but they'll probably have a deal like "get 10% more on your trade-in towards your purchase of a new 3ds XL". So, I'd wait for that deal.

If you're referring to Gamestop, I highly doubt they would give 135-150 for a 3DS trade in. That's pretty much the amount that they sell it at pre owned. Even with bonuses they won't ever give you the same amount that they will sell it at. That wouldn't be profitable for them.

Best bet is to sell it on eBay, Craigslist, or Amazon (or a similar web site) for roughly the 135-150 range.

Instead of trading it in to places like GameStop, your better off selling it yourself. :p

Don't trade into gamestop if you can avoid it. give your system away to someone less fortunate.

also, it is very unlikely that gamestop will give you the chance to transfer your data at time of trade in.

no. there is certain data that is on the system itself. dsiware can't run from an sdcard I believe, some other stuff might also be on system storage.

but, you can't just pull your sd card and throw it in another system and have it work, you have to go through the system transfer.
