just thought i'd post a comment in case i didn't anywhere else...
i'm sure regular visitors to GoingSony and GoneMicrosoft have noticed the homepages forward to GoNintendo.
the why: Because each site was costing a very pretty penny to continue hosting, when there was no return... as in, no dedicated staff posting, which resulted in ever-declining traffic to support the hundreds of dollars in fees per month. the sites were removed from the regular hosting server, and so by default those two other domains point to the one that is still live.
the when: right now, the sites are not being actively developed. we're not seeking staffers (though we still have the letters of interest sent in by everyone), and don't plan to reopen them in the near future, unless...
the how: we generate a LOT of interest for it. the sites still exist, but before they ever go live again, there would have to be a ton of people asking/demanding it. sadly, when the sites went silent, we were starting to see the kind and amount of activity necessary to press on. we'd somehow have to get back to that; show proof that people want their xbox and playstation blogs. i'll leave that up to the people who want to see them live again (we do too, but like i said.. we need the readers to tell us!)
for now, since the forums for each were built and served on the GN site, they remain live... so use them as you like
