I hope the back hasn't changed, because that looks just right to this guy.

It seems like according to the patent, the back of the Wii U hasn't changed much.

The back of the controller now has grips for the hands. Definitely not a flat form factor anymore.

good. flat is not the way to go for a controller.

Something I thought it would be funny to share:

http://oami.europa.eu/bulletin/rcd/2012 ... source.jpg

So this seems to be wiiu's wrist-strap. Notice how the plastic piece is rounded? Like with the wii, this might be a clue of the console's final form factor XD (nothing too elaborated I guess)

Except newer, redesigned Wii straps didn't look like the console, either.

Looking at those photos, it appears that they moved the headphone jack to the bottom of the controller. Good move if you ask me.

I had no idea there was a headphone jack in the first place.

Yep, and before it was in the top side... The headphone cable would have fallen in front of the screen all the time (unless you had a long cable )

The Wii U controller (E3 2011) -See the "Sync" button by the battery compartment?

Image
The Wii U controller (Patent)-Looks like it switched sides on the Final version. Anyway that means that those little squares in the leaked photo are not Sync buttons, unless they put multiple buttons with the same function? Hmmm, E3 Can't get here soon enough.

So then... what's that circle for?

It now looks like it's sitting on the shelf of the controller. I have no idea what that could be. Maybe a place to sit peripherals?

Nice to see it has grips now. :gamer:

The headphone jack should really be on the bottom.

Sorry to go a bit off topic here, but E3 2012 is approaching and I am still wondering about something from E3 2011. It might sound stupid, but here it comes...

Am I the only one who thinks that, in the video call part, the woman starts speaking gibberish after the other guy says "Cycling? That sounds awesome!"?

Yeah, even when I first saw that at e3 I was wondering the same thing, thought it was another language. Didn't like the trailer for the Wii U, I thought it strange considering Nintendo wanted people to know that the Wii U was going to be about bringing back the hardcore players and the whole U concept being that the Wii U stands for you and not Nan and Grandad and Apple friendly siblings that are afraid of a real game or tight fisted folk that won't spend no more than a pound/dollar for a game, unless it's about catapulting colourful birds at green blobs. those games and features they showed in that trailer just reeked of smug casualness, a casual nightmare. but of course it was in the very early stages so Here is wishing for e3 2012!

Thank god, I thought I was the only one. As for what you mentioned, I'm positive that there will be lots of surprises and cool stuff at this year's E3. Last year's reveal was, in my opinion, a bit bland because it showed no first-party titles and only some third-party titles which were mostly multiplatforms.

From the minds of WoW on WiiU, the gamer card, and concept grand prix...

http://www.dualpixels.com/profiles/blogs/rumor-wii-u

We have gotten word from our trusty source Geno, that we can be expecting more Castlevania reveals at E3. As some of you may have seen Castlevania: Mirrors of Faith(3DS) got leaked earlier today, this news coincides with it. Castlevania: Mirrors of Faith will be shown with a Castlevania Lords of Shadows Sequel which is hinted for a PS3, Xbox 360, Vita, and Wii-U release. The Wii-U and 3DS Castlevania Titles are said to be Cross Compatible according to our source, which makes us ponder about the Cross Compatibly for Vita and PS3.The 3DS Version of Castlevania: Mirrors of Faith, will also feature Co-op play and will be a 2-D sidescrolling game. We will give you more details as unveilings follow.

Oh, and the controller might not be final yet

And apparently the mysterious square beneath the d pad is nothing more than the NFC sensor.

Cubical has been saying more than once on the comments section that the square is an RFID, is that the same thing?
