Their web site does not show it there, so I'm assuming that you saw a copy pre owned considering that Best Buy does trade ins now.

Nope, it was in the 'factory sealed' section. The pre-owned games are on an entirely different shelf and are wrapped in some yellow banner/tape. Plus, there were multiple copies, and I might be wrong, but as far as I know, only sealed games are put in those plastic cases.

The pre owned games that I saw at Best Buy were in plastic cases and they had factory sealed games because Best Buy isn't strict about what they take in on trade ins and take factory sealed games.

Not saying you're wrong. Just could possibly have been pre owned and the web site doesn't list it.

There is also the possibility that someone traded in a factory sealed game.

Seriously. When FFXII opened up on the underworld, it was decent for a minute, but all those one path linear levels just weren't right for an RPG like FF. Xenoblade is completely opened up, like FFXIII should have been. The entire world is practically like the underworld of FFXIII. This isn't the only similarity by far. I didn't like FFXIII where you only got to control one character and set up strategies. I mean, it was cool, but it wasn't FF. SO I was worried going into Xeno I wasn't going to like it, but it just does it right, and I still have times where I get to control the other characters' moves during battle.

There are more similarities but done better, imo, in Xeno too.

wait, are you complaining about XII, XIII, or both?
Also, I heard Last Story is the game FFXIII should have been, but i take that statement as seriously as i've taken yours.

Not really complaining about FFXIII, I actually enjoyed it more than most. I'm just saying that some of the game mechanics and tutorials and things that people complained about in FFXIII are kind of present in Xenoblade, but done better/right, and the world is more open, Like FFXIII's should have been. Basically, if you were disappointed in how FFXIII turned out, you can find an easy replacement for it in Xeno. I'm definitely excited for Last Story as well. FFXII was a typo.

add some double posting, off topic-ness, and insulting the mods who are just doing their jobs (lol, who's really being the dick by saying something like that, anyway?); earns you a ban. cheers! :D

That's definitely arguable, but won't go there for obvious reasons, one being mods are right even when they are wrong. I will say that I don't see why your spam/off-topic post in this thread should remain here and not have been deleted as well, though. The ban was fine, I don't live on the internet and have a life outside of it, so it didn't bother me at all. I actually forgot about it and by the time I got back on, it was well passed the reinstatement date. I did lots of fun stuff during it, so I guess you could say I enjoyed it. Cheers! It's also not professional to bust people out in front of everyone, but you are a message board mod or whatever, so I guess you don't have to worry about professionalism.

That's why I don't bust people in public. I just bust them. Never to be seen again.

But don't worry, just keep digging that hole. I'm sure I won't find you down there.

i also usually do it privately, unless someone wants to take it public like you did. for the record, no moderator or admin was wrong in this situation, nor is it a rule that we are infallible. but it tends to be the case that users are in the wrong well over 9/10 times; we don't really enjoy or crave dealing with problems, so we tend to not start things. like i said, someone else usually does that for us.

mod posts can remain as an example to others; for informative purposes. moderator/admin posts informing users are not spam or off topic, even if they are not relevant to the original subject line.

careful with the tone, btw. if you want to get nasty with passive aggressive insults, you might wind up without privileges again. also of interest: i have double checked and found nothing "unprofessional" i or our mods have done, especially in this situation.

end of this discussion. if you have more to say, do it in a PM.

Xenoblade is being stocked at Best Buy Canada, but not in the US stores.

That should clear up some confusion.

I think I figured out a way for a AI controlled Melia to be better offensively, I had 4 different elements in her moveset + copy and everytime I got into a battle she did well in unleashing attack after attack, not sure if that is the actual reason or not but it certainly helps.

Spoiler:
Just got done with Fiora's 5th skill tree quest, such a pain :P

What?

- Overly Expansive Areas?
- Great Music?
- Solid Character Development?
- Extremely Involved Gameplay?

The game does have a pretty long beginning, before you learn everything and start getting into the meat.

I think it's a perfect mix of new JRPG and old-school JRPG. They hit the mix pretty perfectly, and I'm pretty sure that's the majority opinion on the game. I honestly can't see how any fan of the JRPG doesn't see this as a Godsend in a genre that's been overly weak this gen.

I'm now about 30 hours in and just got to
Spoiler:
The fight with Mumkhar at Sword Valley
and I was wondering what benefits there would be to actually working towards getting the heart to hearts to play out. And also, if anyone can recommend how I can get the most out of this game. I've mostly ignored side quests so far...I plan on playing this game until the Wii U comes out, and then I'll probably put it down for a while, so I want to tackle the best parts while I'm really getting into it. So, should I focus on the story? Sidequests? Something else? Please let me know your suggestions!!

The heart-to-hearts themselves are really only there to develop the characters. However, getting them to play requires two characters having Strong Affininities with one another, which is beneficial in its own right since it means you can craft better gems and set up longer chain attacks. If I remember correctly, they also unlock certain achievements, which carry Exp bonuses.

There are three achievements tied to Heart-to-Hearts, yes.

One for doing a Heart-to-Heart with the best choices, one for doing a Heart-to-Heart with the worst choices, and one for doing all of the Heart-to-Hearts in the game.

Affinity raising is also essential to taking advantage of your characters' skill links with each other.

Heart to Hearts only help you increase affinity (which is important for skill trees, chain attacks, gem crafting, among other things), so if you have max affinity between two players, well, there's no point in doing them anymore other than learn more about the characters.

Side quests, though optional, are super helpful. Some side quests give you amazing loot, while others actually give you new moves and talent arts. Just accept every side quest you can, and you should be able to complete over half of them as you progress through the game (most of them involve killing X# of enemies, which you should be doing anyways).

And last of all, the most important tip in Xenoblade Chronicles: UPGRADE YOUR MONADO SHIELD. I went through 60 hours without upgrading that thing, and once I did, I was like "JESUS CHRIST THIS IS SO EASY NOW". Have fun! :D

You should do sidequests. They are addictive, give exp and help in raising affinities. Not to mention
Spoiler:
2 certain sidequests gives you 2 monado arts
. Also some quests are timed so they will expire at some point. You still have plenty of time where you are in the story before those quests expire.
