Yes, definitely. And I hope they update it on a daily basis again, I loved following them for Brawl.

If they do come out with a new website for the next smash bros, I'm gonna try to not check on it a lot (if at all). I constantly checked on the SSBB website like everyday to see what new things were added and stuff, and although I liked what I saw most of the time and even though I got pumped for the game with just about every update, I want to be surprised this time around to see the new stages, characters, items, etc. It'll make me want to play through the game even more to see what new stuff they added. And I could also be like, "OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" if I found out they added something/someone awesome to the game while actually playing the game. :P

Little Mac (how they couldn't have done this for Brawl is beyond me), Ganon (in his original wizardly appearance, not Ganondorf, would certainly give him a new moveset), Dixie Kong (another female character, unique moves), possibly Ridley (though he made an excellent boss, and would have to be shrunken down). Chibi Robo would be fantastic (given the same size increase treatment as Captain Olimar). Mike from Star Tropics (using his Morningstar upgrade). Just to name a few.

I like the way you think.

Why thank you. I think K. Rool would make a good addition too, though I'm not sure what his moveset would be. I'd love to see Wart get more love (meaning more than zero), though again, I'm not sure what his moves would be other than belching toxic bubbles. I'd certainly really love to see Wart and Mouser in the next Mario Kart.

I would like to think that a collaborative effort is going on, also involving staff from Nintendo, HAL, etc., and it just so happens that a team doing a lot of the programming is from Namco. I'd really hate to think that Namco is doing it all by themselves, with direction from Sakurai.

After what they did to Star Fox...................................

And besides, I thought Brawl had some really great cinematics, on par if not in certain places better than the Tekken 5 ones. I don't think, if you mean, that they should have a Tekken "feel" to them.......no. I don't want to see Smash Bros. change at it's fundamental core (gameplay, feel, style, 2D, Nintendo based, etc.).

Most people agree that the cinematics in Brawl were good, just not the story. In my personal opinion, it wasn't as bad as people make it seem, I mean, the storywriter for the Subspace Emissary was the guy that worked on Final Fantasy VII, and he first proposed to have Samus and other characters in a bus going to the stadium. If you thought the story was horrible then you would have thought the original was the silliest thing in history...

Look,i was only suggesting that Namco could be making powerful cinematics like they know how to do,i know that Brawl had decent ones, and i didn`t said anything about changing the series as a whole.

Star Fox didn`t had the support of some of Namco`s biggest talents, and it was still a decent game on it`s own even if they were flaws with it.It still more faithful to the series than Adventure, which wasn`t even about shooting and flying at all,or a little bit of flying but not a whole lot.

I`m only seeing positives potential with this collaboration,Namco has experience making fighting games, making portable versions of them and making stories,so i`m sure they can add their touches without changing the core of the series.

If anything, you should compare this to Mario Kart Arcade GP,which was very faithful to the series plus had some Pacman characters in there.I played it once at the arcade and it was very fun,i`d like if they could release this game or it`s updated version on the Wii U`s Eshop so more people outside of Japan could try it out.The next Smash Bros will definitly be more like Mario Kart arcade than Star Fox Assault since Sakurai is directing it and it wouldn`t make sense to drasticaly change things since Smash Bros is a big franchise.

In case they remains faithful and doesn`t add any major stuffs,i think Sakurai and Namco should look into adding characters with more complex mechanics to make them different and to introduce their games to the Smash Bros fans who never considered playing them and vice-versa,Namco characters or not. They are people who would like to see more depths into the Smash Bros series and such characters would be perfect for them because they could be seen as expert characters and that could serve as a bridge between Smash Bros and Namco`s fighting games for exemple.

At the end, much like Sakurai said, you shouldn`t look at them with narrow-minded thinking.

I'm guilty of being a close-minded bigot in terms of Smash Bros. :p
Aside from online, I think this is a series that really can't get much better and while I'm fine with the somewhat small changes made between the three games I don't ever want to see the series change direction. I also don't want to see more than 4 characters per series, no more than 1 character per third party, an no more than 5 third party characters. I don't want to see a bunch of cartoon characters and no Girham or Waluigi or any thing really by Namco. I kind of hope Sakurai completely ignores the fans and makes the games the way he has been making them (does that make me sick?).

I really wish Nintendo would just drop the 3DS version of the game (I weep when thinking about the jaggies that will plague this verison) and focus on making the WiiU one the best game in the series. I don't know where I was going with this, but I should've went to sleep because its 8:12 and I've been on GoNintendo all night (T_T)
I'm gonna go eat some ceral.

I thought the story in Brawl was pretty damn good. Although, the only 2 things that I hated was there was absolutely no talking, which is expected, since half of them don't even 'talk'. There could have been a scene where Captain Falcon and Samus talked to each other...right? And that the cinematics were a tad short. Don't get me wrong, they looked beautiful for a Wii game (My fav is 'The Great Invasion', seriously, go watch it now to see what I'm talking about), but most of them didn't really explain where the story was going all too well.

Same. I feel like they might make them close to the same, leaving out a lot more content than they should with the Wii U version since we all know that the 3DS can't hold as much memory and stuff. But until they officially say what the differences will be, I'll either rant some more or be happy. :D

Not at all. That seems to be the Nintendo way to do things, after all :P

I don't really think they should drop the 3DS version altogether, especially in light of PlayStation All-Stars, but yeah..it's definitely hard to imagine just what the series' first handheld entry will be like...let alone how it will impact its Wii U counterpart.

Just hope Sakurai and company can make it work...without it seeming like, dare I say, a gimmick.

I agree with you on some points like limiting the amount of characters per series and the number of third party characters but i disagree on dropping the 3ds version. If anything, playing Smash Bros on the go is like a dream that never came true until now, throwing it away would be dissapointing.

^^^
From a developer's viewpoint it's imperative to improve in his works, not just make another sequel. I understand Sakurai and Iwata that it wouldn't be "too impressive" to make just another Smash Bros. game (heck, who am I kidding? It's always impressive...), so they want to achieve more by making two new versions of it.

From the interview of Iwata and Sakurai, the latter mentioned they would port the coding of Brawl to the 3DS, so I believe it wouldn't take too much work with that one (probably not, considering it's a dual screen system with 3D visuals in one and touch-mechanics in the other). The only thing that might take them some time to figure out is with the Wii U gamepad, and the connectivity of the two systems.

With Kid Icarus Uprising, I would like it if they add a new element in the games that would be Petrification. Similar to freezing the character, it would make it heavier and fall down quickly if hit in the air; it would take less damage if it gets hit while in stone.
What would you guys like for new items?

Hmm... Maybe Pokeballs could remain the same, but when a Master Ball appears, the person can pick it up and throw it at another character. If a character gets hit with the Master Ball, that character is locked inside of it for 5 seconds, allowing another character to throw the ball off screen, into a pit of spikes, etc.

The Master Ball could be a rare item, appearing with about the same frequency as a Super Hammer.

I don't really care about items anymore thanks to my friends sadly. :( They made the game all competitive now to the point where we don't even play with items anymore. I miss making up matches...

Well whatever items that are introduced to both versions I'm sure they'll be fun to use. :)

This is the reason why most of the time I hate to play Smash with some friends, they act as total &!7CH3$ if I forget to turn off the items or if we accidentally choose any stage that isn't Final Destination.

The Master Ball is basically the holy grail of Pokeballs in the main RPG series it can catch any pokemon without fail and you normally only get one for the entire game.

Masterball WAS in Yellow though. Most people back then used it on Mewtwo.

Nowadays, I never use them. Sucks because I have like 5-6 from all my GBA/DS games but can't send them up to Black. D: I was hoping to have all my Masterballs, for collection, even though they're useless without using them.

The best thing to use them for is Shiny Pokemon, though.

As cool as that'd be, SEGA published that game, so I don't know where the rights lie. Can Nintendo straight up use him since Gamefreak is theirs? And also, that would mean Pikachu would have to lose Volt Tackle as a Final Smash.

That's the most depressing thing I've ever heard.

In SSB64, there was never this issue. Only level I hated playing on was Zebes because of the acid. I forget if I had items on or off. I think on most of the time, but off later on.

In Melee, my friends and I actually all played on Hyrule Temple most of the time. We liked *long* matches. Later when I had less friends to play with due to colleges, it reverted to Final Destination/No Items, etc.

In Brawl, I play most of the stages and only turn off some items and leave it as is. I can't imagine playing Brawl without items. D:

I like this idea, but might it be a bit overpowered?

Considering the person can't break out a Master Ball in the original series, it means that anyone flung off the side is pretty much immediately KOed. Don't think too many levels exist with more than 5 seconds falling time from edge of platform to bottom of screen.

But hey, you did say it would be rare.

If I am not mistaken, I think there was a terrible algorithm that allowed the Master Ball to miss. It was less of a chance than a Shiny appearing though. Forget.

I think they idea is good, but Master Ball implies that you'd never get out, like you said.

I think they could have an Ultra/Great (Super) Ball and have it basically act like getting caught inside of Yoshi's Eggs. It'd be funny if there was text and it was like "The Pokemon broke free!" or something on the screen like with Triple Finish.
