Nintendo Channel is not recording any gameplay time anymore.

Everything about the Wii and its games...

Nintendo Channel is not recording any gameplay time anymore.

So I've played 4 games in the last say month and a half and since then none of my gameplay data gets saved to the Nintendo Channel. Last game I played before this happened was Metroid Other M which required a software update. I updated, have no homebrew apps of any kind of my Wii, yet is still does not record the data.

What gives?

Did you check your Nintendo Channel settings? Be sure you didn't opt out in sending/receiving data.

Also do realize not all games are tracked in the Nintendo Channel. I've got Secret of Mana for VC, but the Nintendo Channel isn't tracking it (and I have my settings set to send/receive).

Does it really matter? I don't think the times are right anyway, I mean, there is no way I've played Brawl for over 1,000 hours like it says I have.

The Nintendo Channel tracks overall play time of all players since the Wii doesn't have a profile system.

So say you and two other people play Brawl on your console, the Nintendo Channel will track the overall time of all three of you.

In other words if you put in 500 hours for Brawl, person #2 logged 250 hours, and person #3 logged 250 hours, the Nintendo Channel will count a 1000 hours total clocked for Brawl.

# of times played is tracked the same way in the Nintendo Channel.

Also of note about "Play Time" it counts how long the game is active so all the interactions with the menus or if you just leaving it sitting in Attract Mode, rather than collecting time spent in the campaign (like most games keep track of with in themselves).

Back to the topic; is your Wii's system memory full with game saves and/or VC and WiiWare stuff? I'm not sure if the Wii was made to set aside part of it's internal flash memory right from the very beginning for all the gameplay and daily Message Board messages, or if it keeps using the 512 MB as needed. I assume it would just delete the oldest messages to give room for the newer stuff when that's needed, either way. But maybe not.

Check your settings on the Nintendo Channel, and check how many blocks are open in the Wii's memory (as opposed to the blocks available on the SD card you might have in your Wii) and get back to us.
