Well, Nintendo said it's a new console up front and clearly. CNN just...well, they're idiots.

Still not defending Nintendo beyond that, though.

So....they didn't redeem themselves during their round table. Great. Only plus was finding new friends online....

yeah...so odds of anything other than NSMB2, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon and Paper Mario at tmmw's thing looks bleak.

As expected, the roundtable was uneventful. Overall, just a boring and lackluster showing from Nintendo today.

I can tell you this much. I will not buy the Wii U at all until the new Legend of Zelda for the Wii U and other games worth buying is released. In other words, I will not buy the Wii U at launch.

Out of all the games revealed thus far, most of those that have piqued my interest happen to be on Wii-U and 3DS. Yeah, you've got stuff like 1313 and Watch_Dogs, but they didn't show enough gameplay, focusing mostly on fancy CG trailers, so I can't really judge. Wii-U has Pikmin, NSMB, P-100, Rayman Legends, and Tank!x3. Game of show, however, is Revengeance. Just saw its gameplay demo. Amazing.

all I've seen of 1313 and most of what I've seen watchdogs is game play.

Again I reiterate: I will not buy a Wii U for NuSMB or Pikmin 3. And I certainly won't buy it for Nintendo Land.

Yep. Because you can sure tell a whole lot about the ENTIRE LIFE of a console because of a handful of launch window titles, right? (And let me again impress, that that third party support looks pretty stellar, something a lot of complainers in here seem to be totally ignoring, even though it's explicitly what they've been asking for for YEARS.).

I suppose if you had just looked at the launch window games that would be available for Wii, you might have "not given a damn" about that console either, eh? I mean beyond Zelda, what did it have? Excite Truck? Elebits? Wii Sports? Or Gamecube for that matter. I mean really, Luigi's Mansion? Waverace? Star Wars? Pffft.

Hell, you must've REALLY lost interest with the launch lineup for the Nintendo 64. It consisted of exactly Mario 64 and Pilotwings 64. Compared to THAT, this Wii-U Launch Window lineup looks like about the best launch lineup in gaming history.

But seriously, some of you making a judgement about whether or not you're going to get the system, or even care about it, after what LITTLE we've seen today? That's really damn ignorant, and really damn sad. Sorry for saying so, but it is what it is. Every single one of those consoles I mentioned, went on to have a lot of really excellent games, every one of them within 6 months to a year of launch, had a LOT to offer. And the Wii U launch lineup already seems to have quite a bit to offer. Just because it isn't PACKED with first party "megaton" games, doesn't mean that it's suddenly got "weak support", or that it isn't going to get them.

Perhaps some of you should consider that maybe Nintendo is doing what so many of you have WANTED for all these years, and working more closely with 3rd parties? Perhaps they're holding some of their own games BACK, so that third party software "has a chance to sell better", they're giving the third party devs the spotlight right out of the gate. And yet we STILL get a Mario and a Pikmin, and you can bet that Nintendo will be revealing a few other titles (not for launch window, but for the months following), between now and launch this fall.

I think there's plenty to be excited about already. If some don't? Too bad for them.

Links plz. All I saw of 1313 was that GameTrailers OH MAN EXCLUSIVE REVEAL where they showed like 10 seconds of pretty standard third-person cover-based shooting. Sure it looks amazing, but that doesn't mean it'll play amazing!

And I'm pretty sure you already saw my post concerning Watch_Dogs. If you've got anything else, then by all means, feel free to post it.

Who said anything about wiiu's lifetime? As far as Im concerned nintendo and third parties are free to reclaim my interest any time they want, but at this time I have no more desire to get this console soon.

I think there's plenty to be excited about already. If some don't? Too bad for them.

The vast majority of 3rd party games on it are ports of games that are already out. It's nice that the system is getting games that are coming out as multiplatform as well, but having those alone don't sell a console. I have a PS3 and a 360, I can already buy those titles on those consoles. Nintendo focused too much time and effort into pushing Sing and Nintendoland(as well as 3rd party casual games). It was too much for a company that says that they are making games for people who love games, and not the casual. You don't say that and show 30 minutes of casual stuff to an audience that doesn't care about that. You may have enjoyed the Wii, but I for one did not. What this conference implied was they are just going to have the same kind of games come out on it.

To quote myself:
"They will seriously have to prove themselves to me. I got a very "Wii" vibe from them, and I absolutely hated the Wii. I respect that some people like it, I'm just expressing my opinion here, but I had absolutely no titles on the Wii that I enjoyed like Nintendo games on other consoles. The good Nintendo games for me were "Neat, but I never want to play this again", and even that was with a select few..."

I don't give a flying crap if they proved that the system is fun for my grandma, mom, dad, and siblings. I put consoles in my bedroom, and I play consoles alone. I hated the Wii. It had the same exact approach. I bought into the hype of that console before, and I was optimistic about it like you are with the Wii U, but the quality of Wii games were terrible when compared to Nintendo's other consoles.

Edit: I'm not saying that I'm not willing to allow Nintendo to change my mind, but this conference does not bode well for the future.

remember how we've said that porting down shouldn't be a problem? yea, square enix just laughed at that fucking idea.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVX0OUO9 ... e=youtu.be

if the next gen systems are going to be doing that shovel, the wii u is pretty much a non starter in that space of the serious 3rd party titles. unless nintendo is seriously holding something back. and also starwars 1313 and watch dog... today has made me less hopeful for downports.

There's no way it'd look like that on PS4/720. I also think that's "real time" CG, unless it has like 16gb of ram for that final shot.

And it probably won't be turned into a game, ala FF7 trailer.

probably just a very hi-res texture on a skybox.

oh yea, it's not a game at all. but goddamn. the wiiu will never be able to run a port of that stuff. :(

Neither would PS4 or 720. Plus, since it's Square Enix, if it were to come out on PS4 or 720, the next Nintendo console would be out by then.

Also, Tomb Raider is apparently coming to Wii U now.

lol. broly, you know how to make me feel better. I think that's relatively close to what the ps4 will do, tbh. you free a high end dx11 gpu from a pc operating system... fucking hell, watch that metal tear the shovel out of some pixels.

Nintendo are holding back showing/announcing their own high profile games at E3 (except Pikmin/NSMBU) hoping to give the third party "hardcore" titles more attention and more sales, and thereby aquire future thirdparty support. Maybe a stupid move that backfires ... we will see.

That last shot can't be done in real time on PS4/720 unless those consoles cost $1500 and have 16gb of ram.

Also, Black Ops 2 supposedly is being held back since it MAY not hit launch.
