Yep. Because you can sure tell a whole lot about the ENTIRE LIFE of a console because of a handful of launch window titles, right? (And let me again impress, that that third party support looks pretty stellar, something a lot of complainers in here seem to be totally ignoring, even though it's explicitly what they've been asking for for YEARS.).
I suppose if you had just looked at the launch window games that would be available for Wii, you might have "not given a damn" about that console either, eh? I mean beyond Zelda, what did it have? Excite Truck? Elebits? Wii Sports? Or Gamecube for that matter. I mean really, Luigi's Mansion? Waverace? Star Wars? Pffft.
Hell, you must've REALLY lost interest with the launch lineup for the Nintendo 64. It consisted of exactly Mario 64 and Pilotwings 64. Compared to THAT, this Wii-U Launch Window lineup looks like about the best launch lineup in gaming history.
But seriously, some of you making a judgement about whether or not you're going to get the system, or even care about it, after what LITTLE we've seen today? That's really damn ignorant, and really damn sad. Sorry for saying so, but it is what it is. Every single one of those consoles I mentioned, went on to have a lot of really excellent games, every one of them within 6 months to a year of launch, had a LOT to offer. And the Wii U launch lineup already seems to have quite a bit to offer. Just because it isn't PACKED with first party "megaton" games, doesn't mean that it's suddenly got "weak support", or that it isn't going to get them.
Perhaps some of you should consider that maybe Nintendo is doing what so many of you have WANTED for all these years, and working more closely with 3rd parties? Perhaps they're holding some of their own games BACK, so that third party software "has a chance to sell better", they're giving the third party devs the spotlight right out of the gate. And yet we STILL get a Mario and a Pikmin, and you can bet that Nintendo will be revealing a few other titles (not for launch window, but for the months following), between now and launch this fall.
I think there's plenty to be excited about already. If some don't? Too bad for them.
