The sales are something that can bother developers as well (what's the point in losing time creating innovative and unique ways to play that game with the gamepad if that game won't sell well in this plataform?); and the lack of a rigid online structure can surely affect it too.

I heard people in NeoGAF speculating that the power gap between the Wii U & the XBOX 720/PlayStation 4 will be as big as the power gap between the PlayStation 2 & the XBOX/Nintendo GameCube.

ddddd wrote:I can't see the WiiU becoming the lead platform of the next gen, devs will probably keep working on 360 until the next sony and MS consoles are out and then lead development on those.
spellsinger wrote:Hm... don't be so optimistic.
Rumors points that Durango and Orbis both will have 2 GPUs and 8 core processors, each one; Wii U GPU will be a HD 5000 evergreen series with an IBM tri-core processor according to rumors.
The Neogaf guy said the gap between them it's like dreamcast(wii U) and Xbox(Durango) OR MAYBE EVEN MORE!
If these rumors turns out to be true, the gap will be noticeable in better textures, fluidity and much more.

hey now, I was just being pedantic. you said 100%. that is not accurate. there are no analog triggers. thus, it can't be 100%. Accurate. like a boss.

In reality you're not the boss here. In reality, there will be no gameplay differences between varying versions of the same game while using both the Gamepad Pro or a 360 controller. In reality, I felt no difference between the two. They felt the exact same except for the swapped analog sticks, better d-pad and face buttons. You'd be hard pressed to say otherwise.

Uh...yes, it does.

komicturtle92 wrote:It's good Nintendo decided to stay conservative in power. Like a few mentioned, development costs are on the rise and developers would rather invest on a console that won't devour so much costs. As for the leap between Durango and WiiU- doubt it's going to be substantial. It sounds more like a Playstation 2 vs Xbox/Gamecube situation. And from rumored reports about Durango, both WiiU and Durango's architecture will be somewhat similar- though obviously Durango is poised to be the strongest. Don't expect an ocean of a difference. A puddle or small flood, yeah. Also, look at the economy. I don't think Microsoft or even Sony would want to put soooo much money especially knowing how graphics technology always evolve- which is why PC versions often look better, and well... Lots of people are broke and jobs are kinda scarce.
I've never heard of WiiU having an HD 5000 Evergreen..

spellsinger wrote:The HD 5000 evergreen series rumor is from WiiUDaily, which isn't a reliabe source.
The rumor of probably being an Radeon Embedded E6760 GPU is from a nintendo blog called nintengen.
A gap just like playstation2/gamecube? I don't expect so... the new engines are coming obviously more powerful and costing less, one of they prior objectives is to reduce the cost of production of games. I think the Wii U will receive a lot of downgraded ports of games from DurangOrbis (when willl have, because I think that a lot of devs will not bring them because of sales and stuff).
And I didn't even start to talk about the consoles they have in mind when they create or gonna create their respectives engines...
I don't wanna be undesirable, but I think that some nintendo fans should get ou from the dreamland.
EDIT: Oh sorry, you said gamecube/xbox. But anyway, I still think the leap will be more and noticeable

I felt Rumble during P-100 too. Which surprised the heck out of me when it did.
KingBroly wrote:If people expect development costs to come down from current PS3/360 levels with PS4/720, you are sorely mistaken.
