My local GameStop said they're not sure if they're starting pre-orders next week. They said they "might", and that they were "for sure" getting promo materials next week (as well as promo stuff & trade-in/trade-up deal info for 3DS XL).

I was planning to get Wii U on launch but I've decided to wait until my birthday in march. I still want Batman Armored Edition as my first game. I'm going to get 3DS XL since my regular 3DS is having issues. I'm going to get it on sale maybe Black Friday if they have a good deal for it. It's kinda good this way because I've learned not to get things day one.

Hell of an exclusive to get, Origins is my favourite of the current gen revivalist 2D platformers. Plus as long as it's in HD this one's probably going to look as good as it ever could, regardless of how powerful the Wii U ends up being compared to its competition.

I hope Nintendo doesn't attach and arbitrary number or level to them, if they're real. I hate gamerscore, and I hate B/S/G/P.

Not having a value attached to them basically makes it like Steam's achievement system, wherein every Steamworks game that uses it doesn't have achievements, and can be added infinitely because of no arbitrary value system.

It's also good since Nintendo will now be able to tap into that all important 'achievement whore' market.

Although, for Nintendo games, I can't really see the system helping out many franchises besides Metroid and Star Fox to add replay value.

I deleted my post because I realize how stupid it was. The accomplishments will be like the Streetpass Accomplishments. I don't know if they will associate a value, though, but it probably won't.
