Glad to see people like my/ smashbros4svp's idea. I figured the Master Ball would be kind of like an automatic KO. Just like the Super Hammer pretty much is to anyone above 50% damage.

MoldyClay wrote:If I am not mistaken, I think there was a terrible algorithm that allowed the Master Ball to miss. It was less of a chance than a Shiny appearing though. Forget.

If this is true, the Master Ball could occasionally fail to work in Super Smash Bros., too. Just like the steel end of the Hammer falling off, if it doesn't work then it's worthless.

Apparently it is only possible in the original games, because the system is set up where a Master Ball CAN theoretically fail, but a Pokemon would have to have a catch rate below 3, which none currently have. But the mechanics in the original games were different, so it was apparently possible.

I've seen people say it's happened in later games, but I have no idea if it actually happens.

But yeah, there could be ways around it, even if they made it a different ball or something.

Oh, that's pretty crazy.

Not sure why they chose Dig Dug and said "drill" (uses a shovel, IIRC) when it'd make more sense to mention Mr. Driller at the end, but that's some crazy stuff.

I honestly hope Pac Man (and Klonoa) are in SSB. And I really want a legit console/portable version of that Mario Kart.

Key point in bold. The Hammer is easily dodgeable, surviveable at high percentages and only a one hit KO above a certain percentage in many situations anyway. Your Master Ball idea might not be, which might break it.

So, once in about a few million? That's a little too rare for a one hit KO item to misss.

I think it'd be better just to change it to an Ultra Ball or something.

I still want to see Bombchus as items. Because you can never have too many kinds of bombs!

Other ideas:

• 1-Up Mushroom - might be interesting for Stock matches/Solo modes. Would be rare.
• Fairy - would freely float about the stage after spawning. Coming into contact would heal 50% damage.
• Spiny Shell - hits whoever has the most lives/KOs depending on the type of match. Others can be caught in the crossfire as well, just like in Mario Kart.
• Deku Leaf - Gives players the ability to float while in midair, and dish out a powerful gust on land. Being a magical item, it would dry out after a certain period of time.

I'd also like to see enemies spawn from crates from time to time like in Melee, but with the advent of Assist Trophies...that might be kinda redundant.

As far as Pokémon items goes, I was thinking in TMs (Technical Machines), in which you grab one, wear it as a badge item, like the Screw Attack or Franklin Bagde, and you can use a Pokémon move once, for example, let's say Mario grabs a TM13, he launches an Ice Beam, if he grabs TM24, uses Thunderbolt, and so on.

Another idea I have with TMs are "Elemental TMs", which are type-specific TMs (Electric TM, Ice TM, Fire TM, etc.), and while the characters are wearing them, all their attacks become of that type, for example, Kirby grabs a Fire TM, all of his attacks would be of fire/have a fire effect when hitting something.

I support all of this.

And having enemies spawn wouldn't be that redundant. Assist Trophies are redundant as it is, since they are basically Pokeballs. Enemies would be able to be KO'd. AT's and Pokemon are not, with few exceptions.

I like both ideas a lot. I think the first one would work better though. I can imagine Mario grabbing TM13, and then at the top of the screen, it says "Mario, use Ice Beam!"

I'm surprised this doesn't already exist considering how awesome (and logical) the idea is. I support it.

• Fairy - would freely float about the stage after spawning. Coming into contact would heal 50% damage.

This too, seems like a perfect new item to represent the Zelda series.

• Spiny Shell - hits whoever has the most lives/KOs depending on the type of match. Others can be caught in the crossfire as well, just like in Mario Kart.

Eh, not sure. Spiny Shells are annoying in Mario Kart, I don't think putting them in Smash Bros will make people very pleased with Nintendo.

• Deku Leaf - Gives players the ability to float while in midair, and dish out a powerful gust on land. Being a magical item, it would dry out after a certain period of time.

I remember that and thinking it was pretty neat, so yes, crates should spawn enemies every now and again.

Although I presume it was cut for the amount of effort needed, since the Subspace Emissary has STACKS of different enemies. Still, doesn't mean it shouldn't return and heck, having a ton of possible random enemies that could spawn could be awesome.

Yeah, I'm sure it would set quite a few people off at first, but since this is a totally different environment, I doubt a lot of the "cheapness" would carry over.

Plus Smash has an advantage over Mario Kart in that items can be toggled on and off, so if they really hate it that much they can just conveniently pretend it doesn't exist :P

I like the idea of 1up mushrooms, through i wonder if they should appear only on stocks matches or if they could appear in other modes. For exemple, collecting a 1up during a time match could give you an extra point and during a coins match,a coin bonus in some way like a thousand coins.

Beyond that,i`m interested in seeing new multiplayer modes beyond the traditionnal stuffs.Something like Light vs Dark or capture the shine sprite from Mario Kart.Through, they could make the former interesting by letting the last person who get knocked out become Master Hand with a set amount of life and you`d need to beat Master Hand to win the game,i`d be a team-based game and each teams would share the number of stocks that`s set at the beginning.

With the recent reemerging of the Super Leaf in Mario games I would be shocked if it didn't make it into the new SSB.

As for the elemental TM Idea make them Gym Badges instead. this way it still stays true to the elemental part without it looking like a TM Which in turn looks very similar to a CD.

And lets add the dreaded Blue shell from MarioKart that homes in on the person with the least amount of deaths. Of course you can toggle this off.

Keeping with the theme of Mario Power Ups how about the Goomba's Boot? You'll loose the ability to perform attacks and the only way you can deal damage is if you jump up and then slam down.

Anyone got any good stage ideas?

Personally I'd love to see a Pushmo one. Where Mallow moves blocks in and out while you fight on them.

I'd also love a stage with planetiods and a gravity effect based on the SUper Mario Galaxy games.

A pirate ship based on the Donkey Kong series, with barrels that send you across the arena and maybe with random ennemies that jump in to attack everyone in the stage.

Maybe something based on Uprising where you fight across Hades` body and he summons turrets to shoot at you which you could destroy during the fight.

A Mario Galaxy stage and a Donkey Kong themed pirate ship stage would be cool. Then again, a Donkey Kong stage that's not a jungle would be a good idea in general anyway.

I'd also like to see some form of Wario Land stage, since WarioWare's already got some representation and I'd like to see something based off Wario's platforming game series as well.

For Pokémon, I'd like to see another city-themed stage--particularly one based on Nimbasa City. I imagine it would be set at night, where all the lights from the theme parks and stadiums would provide some lively city scenery. The ferris wheel could even be a part of the stage!

And how about a yarn-style stage for Kirby? Still haven't played Epic Yarn, so I have no idea what they could base it on, but I love the look :)

I remember the city stage in the original and such a stage for Pokemon would be a breath of fresh air over the stadiums, through they could bring these back from Melee or Brawl or both.

I wonder if they should do a stage based on New Super Mario Bros.Brawl had a Mario stage where you`d be going through the first 2 levels of the original but the backgrounds were dull and the camera was close to the point that in the underground stage, you could throw people upward and they would be knocked out of the arena instantly. If they learn from their lessons,i wouldn`t mind such a stage in the next game.

I honestly am sick of the Stadiums. It's cool and all that they decided to do different types, but I feel like they're bland and boring. I want a stage like Saffron from the N64 version as well. Anything from 5th gen or even, if they want to do a stadium, do a Gym, or the Elite Four rooms. Do something nuts.

Don't really want a NSMB stage, but I do want Galaxy and maybe even a 3D Land one(as in, have things popping out or something; Tanooki Tails, whatever).

Ship/DK would be cool. As long as it is different from the Zelda one from Brawl.

I also support an Epic Yarn stage.

I think there should be a crazy new Zelda stage based on Skyward Sword, but I don't know what it'd be. There are so many options. Also, an OoT stage again, due to OoT3D. Ganon's Castle? Or something.

If Little Mac or Saki/Isa/Airan or something were in, I'd want a WVBA ring and something based on a stage from Sin & Punishment (something like the level where you play Airan and are heading to protect Saki after fighting Brad would be cool; Haven't played Star Successor yet).

We have 3 new Kirby games... From Epic Yarn, Mass Attack and Return to Dreamland. I wouldn't mind a stage having a stage from any of them. What I would like though is to see some characters appearing in the stage, like Magolor on his Lor Starcutter, or the Squeaks, or Prince Fluff coming out of a sock in the background, or Customer Service or even Drawcia...

It would be the characters standing on top of the ship going through many places of the Kirby games like the Orange Sea, Bubbly Clouds, Mt. Dedede, Galactic Nova, Ripple Star, Halcandra and to Another Dimension; also some characters would often appear like Kabula, Dynablade or Landia shooting at the characters, standing on the ship of attacking it, making it difficult for the players to stay safe.

It's kind of fan-servicy how they put nostalgic and important stages of Kirby in the smash games, first being Green Greens with Whispy Woods, then the Fountain of Dreams in Melee, and the Halberd in Brawl. Next probably will be something from Kirby 64? If that's the case, I would love anything from it! Maybe someplace in Ripple Star and feature Ribbon in there (we want more Ribbon and Adeleine HAAAAAAAL!!!)

If some of the Final Smashes change, I believe Kirby should: either get a super ability from Return to Dreamland, get a random copy ability from any of his games, or use one of the special attacks in the rpg minigame Kirby Quest, like Kabuki Kirby.
I know any would be overpowered, so I think limiting the power to a very short period of time, limited uses (like Mike or Crash) or has a short range would be okay.
Also I hope he gets more rock transformations even rare ones like the gold Mario/Samus statue, Hal block, Mt. Fuji...

Also I've been wondering if the game will have more bosses. In Kid Icarus Uprising there are
Spoiler:
26!!!
, and if that's the case it would be amazing to see a boss from each franchise (except you Olimar, your bosses are too damn big /jk).

My idea for Kirby's Final Smash would be using the Paint ability, which besides making damage, changes the colors of his opponents.

And it may be me, but, we haven't discussed Music yet. At least, in the time I've been following this thread.
