was KingBroly the one to change the title? Whoever did it, I'm glad it got done.

Agreed...if you want to turn this into a full-blown timeline discussion, there's another thread for that.

I changed the thread title :D

Same here this was the least exciting 1st party game at the conference. DKCR and KEY easily stole the show. Yes even Wii Party was more exciting too me than Zelda. I don't know maybe it was because of the bad demo and the awful trailer. I'm sure I will buy it and like it but i'm defiantly not going gaga over it.
Finally got a PS3 sooo add me if you want. :)

I was also immensely glad to hear that IR pointer controls would be an option, I have unusually shaky hands and I have a feeling I might be ill-suited for Wii Motion+ aiming. Does anybody have a link to the best video of the demo they've found? I really hate how they don't give us direct feed of this stuff.

so whats behind it? where can i see the video im curious to find out. i mean, if i stood there in line for two hours to play i probably saw alot of people tackling alot of stuff. id take my time to look around, for i would have seen some things the demo had to offer already. and i played wii sports resort i know how swordfighting and bow arrow works i can run through that alot faster...

Yes! Im also glad IR pointer is an option. Im not a fan of the bow and arrow in Wii Sports Resort. Half the time Im aiming at the ground, yet the reticule is in the center of the screen. Its frustrating and annoying.

I'm pretty sure WM+ is a fundamental part of everything else though (swordplay, bug flying, whip, etc.)

Hmm... I'm not sure if they meant that the whole game can be played without WM+. I know it at least means that you can aim without it, but it would seem strange that the game that pushes its use would use a simple setting to turn it all off. *shrug* (Ah, LGBA beat me to it, n/m)

I kinda like the indirect WM+ aiming personally... I like the more skillful approach to playing the game rather than just pointing at the screen and getting a straight shot at it.

If you had read what I said, you would have seen that I clearly stated I didn't want to get into another pointless "timeline" debate. Ezekiel didn't say anything in response to that, because I made it CLEAR I wasn't trying to start a debate on this thread. Rusty didn't have to say anything, but chose to, of his own accord.

So thanks for the "take this outside, gentlemen" sentiment, but it was hardly necessary.

As for someone asking whether or not Link's an angel, well, no, not really. Just because somebody lives on an (awesome) Island in the Sky (like Laputa), doesn't mean, by any means, that they're an "angel" or anything like that. But I do think it's awesome that Link DOES come from an island in the sky. Certainly original.

that's golbez for doing that i really appreciate it lol.
currently on another there saying this game you start with 6 hearts i don't agree it could very well be that the dugeon we saw was the fourth dugeon and there fore link had picked up 3 heart containers also look at how many items link has the is no way he'd get that many in the first dugeon.
My favorite zelda game is Twilight Princess and Jirachi is my favorite pokemon <3 skype:SSBBKING

well aonuma said that they unlocked a few things specifially for the demo to show off.
the way i see it is that there is this giant dungeon that is the city in the sky and the hyrule dungeons are smaller and you have to get items there, similar to what the DS games did. the skyward sword transports link up and down and the master sword actually cuts the enemies XD

You can get the Wii Motion Plus dongle for less than $20 at Buy.com. I bet you can find them even cheaper on eBay.

I actually forgot that I had already bought one (for $10, from a buddy who accidentally ordered two and wanted to get rid of one) til a couple of weeks ago when I bought Super Mario Galaxy and dusted off my Wii. It's nice to not constantly get the "point the remote at the screen" message.

mild spoilers immediately below...

miyamoto said that the sky area is link's original home, and that the world below is the one plagued by evil. link never knew about the world below... sort of like the earth being flat kind of thing. something major happens and link discovers it, and is forced to travel down to take care of business. i like the idea of having one serene place and one that isn't...so hopefully ezekiel is off ;)

also about the sword (spoiler): the skyward sword is not the master sword... but eventually becomes it by the end.

see, i also hope that im off, because id like that idea aswell. but i think that this something that happens effects skyloft aswell as hyrule. and thats why i guess this will be it.
however, im glad if im wrong^^

so if the girl is the skyward sword and the skyward sword becomes the master sword, doesnt make that the girl the amster sword, even though aonuma said thats not the case?

I was happy to see...

Postby tweb1984 » 19 Jun 2010 13:57

That on Gamefaqs most anticipated E3 title poll Zelda Skyward Sword was winning by a mile =].

Maybe this makes me a fanboy but I just love it when Nintendo makes a solid victory over the other two systems. (I don't necessarily hate the other two systems, just don't have the time or money to get way too many systems so I just stick to buying from Nintendo because of my love for their first party games.)

Anyways, I just wanted to say that I'm happy about Nintendo succeeding in getting so much anticipation for the game.

I'd also like to say "Nice to meet you!" to everybody on the forums!

Welcome to our humble little community!

Well Im glad that Zelda won, because that means everyone read game impressions and realized that Nintendo's on-stage demo actually WAS technical difficulties.

musings on the spoilers being mentioned:
Spoiler:
I'm not sure how much i like that being the story, I always find that sort of "object origin" stuff really boring unless it's a means to a different end, I hope there's more to it than that. I really hope we get some interesting, deep characters in this one.

I guess they left DKCR out of the poll because they must have some rule were they gonna only reference anything Wii-related 2 times a day on their home page.

Video Game websites hate giving Wii games any hype =[. I know I'm more excited about the new Zelda game than I ever have been or ever will be for any Assassin's Creed game. I prefer a green cap over a weird hood any day =]

Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword

Postby Devil_Rising » 20 Jun 2010 02:42

Well, in general, I find games like Zelda, Mario, Smash Bros., Muramasa, Little King's Story, A Boy and His Blob, etc., more appealing than your average Assassin's Creed, Halo, Uncharted, etc. Which would likely be why I play my Wii far more than my PS3, even though, it must be said, I really do like the last PoP game (the new storyline one), and Batman is pretty bad ass. I am really looking forward to actually seeing what The Last Guardian is all about, and 3D Dot Heroes was also a fairly awesome concept. And even though I don't consider it a Castlevania title in the least, Lords of Shadow looks like it could be fun, if the story is decent and plays well (unlike the PS2 ones).

But overall, I certainly am looking forward to Metroid, DKC, Zelda, Epic Mickey, etc., far more than I am pretty much anything else. I do think Goldeneye might have fun multiplayer, if it's anything like the old one, but I'll just let my friend buy that, and go over to his house to kick his ass. lol
