I personally say that the Trilogy is in every single aspect better than their respective single disc games...

I already own all three games, but I'd like to see if a Hard play-through of Echoes proves easier with the Wii controls, because so far I have not been able to best the Emperor Ing using the GCN controller. Plus, it'd give me an excuse to play through the whole series again; with improved Wii controls, of course...

Is $30 still too much cash? Because that's what I paid when I got it from Target last week.

That was last week, and now it's $50 again (Amazon has it for $49). It's still a worthy purchase at that price.

I disagree, I think $50 is overpriced. They are great games, but they are ports, and have been released before. You could probably find all games separately for around $30 total.

Prime 3 isn't a port.

And you can't find for less than 40. Finding for less than 50 is already a feat. Deamn, Prime 3 alone is worth the 50 bucks, let alone all of three games. Can't see how someone can consider any compilation with one of the best games from current gen overpriced.

I meant used and don't nitpick Broly, you know what I mean in that the first two games are ports. Reality is you can get the first two Prime games on GC between $5-10 used at my local shop and Prime 3 sits around $15-17 if I remember correctly.

Hell, right now a quick search for complete copies in good condition on eBay brings up MP 1 for 60 cents, MP 2 for 99 cents and MP 3 for $2.74 the first two with under 30 minutes left and the third with under 3 hours.

If you are talking about used games, then you can buy ANY GAME for considerably less than the MSRP price.

Brand new, MP3 is 50 and MP1 & 2 are definitely more than 25 each. You'll expend more than 100 dollars on it. For all in one disc, with a great cover and manual, and great Wii controls.

I don't see your point. It is not like Retro doesn't deserve our money.

I don't think Metroid Prime Trilogy is overpriced.

However, I do think it's silly that everyone is so excited about this set. It consists of 3 previously released games. It's really not that big of a deal.

It is a deal. the first two are redone in widescreen an 480p and look georgeous. the controls are also fixed and some neat stuff got added. prime 2 especially got a nice treatment and is alot fairer now. also, you get some cool bonus stuf flike art gallery (taken from the originals) and soundtrack collection aswell as screenshot grabbing. and above it all, it gives us the ability to play trough the story in a nice vcovninient way and it has an artbook and all that for less than ONE single game...

i have it, i dont regret it a second and its currently one of my most played games...

People need to quit calling it an artbook, it's like a pamphlet. Also, I don't feel the game was worth $50, I would never have purchased it at $50 and I got it for $25 new, my ideal MSRP for the game would have been $30 or maybe $40.

I won't really bother defending my position on it because it's just an opinion, I feel that making the games MSRP $40 would have been a fairer price tag for the game. Regardless of my position it's clear that the game is selling often for reduced prices, chances are it wouldn't be reduced if it sold well at $50 so apparently many others felt the same as me and waited for it to drop.

Also DanDancc, Retro and Nintendo have long since made their dough back on all three of these games.

I noticed MPT uses the dual layer disk format. Is this the second dual layer game after SSB Brawl? Also, I thought I read somewhere that the load times were cut down for Corruption but I don't see it. In fact, when I activate certain blast doors, it almost seems worse than before. :?

now we know. i couldn't find a list, but i think NSMBW is also dual layer. but other than those doors, i didn't notice any other things that seemed to slow down in terms of loading or frame rate.

*sigh*

1) Brawl and MP Trilogy are the only two dual-layer games. All other games are single-layer. That includes Mario Kart Wii and New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

2) Corruption's load times only received a slight reduction in Trilogy, though it's not noticeable since MP 1 and 2 got a bigger reduction in load times in Trilogy.

Well, I noticed.

Although, yeah, I do agree that the difference between the older versions of MP1 and MP2 compared to the new 'version' of MP3 in regards to loading times is like... dusk and dawn. :D

I googled it and it turns out I was wrong, Mario Kart Wii isn't a dual layered disk after all. Huh. Could've sworn it was.

NSMB Wii, though? Really? I've stated in more than one post that the game clocks in at around four hundred megabytes.

A single layer Wii disc can hold up to 4.7 GB. A dual layer Wii disc can hold up to 8.5 GB.

This is an awesome deal. I got to the very end of Prime 1 but never beat it (i got robbed) and so i never played Prime 2 at all, and although I had prime 3, I sold it knowing I'd eventually get this so its awesome going back and playing it all the way thru.

On a side note, anyone with this game pm me with your wii code so i can get some friend vouchers. thanks.
