Well since i'm hoping the 3DS can double as a controller, and that i can have the Tablet charging while I'm playing like I do with my wirless PS3 controller, I'm not too concerned with getting a second tablet. I still want to say $60-$80.

i feel they NEED to sppport at least 2 and make the upad accessible as a purchase at retail. Launching first and knowing their history with coasting i'm concerned well be stuck with another closed box for 5-6 years.

The tablet controller gives them a way to profit and improve on the wiiu experience and hopefully the have some foresight this time

Where would you get a second pad if they wouldn't sell them? If you break it then what? Call Nintendo and order one? They should have them available at retail (Not exclusive at GameStop) and two or more usable.

Last we heard last E3, it was going to be 1 tablet supported by the Wii U + wiimotes and that Nintendo does not plan to sell it separately. I assume they were simply planning on offering it via their on-line store/repairs if people call in needing a replacement.

This is why to me, having a 2nd upad support is key. #1) it means Nintendo will need to sell it at retail because they can't possibly pack 2 in, #2) there are various gameplay/user request reasons for supporting 2 pads as it was where most people went to when they asked about the Wii U (will this thing support more than 1?)

We have since heard rumours, that Nintendo may have understood they needed to support at least 2 so I'm hopeful. Dream scenario is obviously 3-4, but I'm not sure how realistic that will be. 2 could be reasonable, especially if they can position the 2nd upad as 'mom's machine so the heavy user could be playing their games while mom picks up her upad and checks the son's playtime, browse a few pages of a magazine, browse the net, and access the wiiu parental controls and shut off the son's game when he needs to go study.

My concern is that Nintendo may not see the benefit here. I personally think retailing the uPad as a retail products open the door for them to slide in at the very low end of the tablet market. Most people wouldn't consider uPads as tablets initially, but if they release revisions of it, and almost every gaming controller has received at least one, then there's the chance to give it a better screen and be able to do more things. And they could successfully segment their market from the casual users who only really need the core unit +1 upad, and their fans who would go out and buy a new controller with better functions every 12-18 months.

This could also fit neatly into the online/apps strategy. If they really want to get a store going, the requirements in 2-3 years for what a tablet can do will change, and while the Wii U box isn't expected to change, they can 'refresh' the experience with a Gen2 controller that can do more, and relaunch the whole platform that way.

I'd be willing to pay about £60 more than whatever the PS3 is going for on Wii U's release. So if the PS3 is still £190, £250 for a Wii U.

Obviously I'm talking purely about the system, without any bundled games.

I would absolutely love a $300 price tag, but I see $350 being a real possibility. I would be ok with that. $400 is pretty dang steep, and anything higher than that would make me extremely nervous. I hope they keep games at $50, though again, I wouldn't be surprised if that's just wishful thinking on my part. Nintendo hasn't confirmed that each Wii U will be capable of using two tablet controllers at once, but I feel it's a reasonable thing to expect and would be surprised if they don't wind up giving developers (themselves included) the option of making games for at least two tablet controllers per console. Even if they don't initially offer individual tablets for sale alongside the bundled console. I would love to save my character or info or game data to my tablet, take it to a friend's house, and join their games on their Wii U with all my own save data. Then I can go home, boot up my tablet's save info, and keep my character (or what have you) improving no matter where I play! Though with Nintendo's (expected) online improvements, that might not be a big deal anymore..... I digressed.

There are four people in my household who currently play the Wii and would play the Wii U. Considering the Wii U will be backwards compatible, including the peripherals, I know it will see a ton of use.

Being 14 it is almost entirely impossible to find a job so money is pretty tough. So far I have saved up 80 bucks for it and will pay however much it costs unless it is like a PS3 launch price.

I dont think nintendo is going to be suicidal like that, but you may spend near that amount with some games included.

just don't trade to make the diff, you'll regret it. at 13/14 I was busting hump mowing lawns and doing odd jobs around my town to buy a 64

Companies obviously feel they aren't making enough money, so I fully expect yet another jump in price, and why stop at a 10$ increase, why not go with 20? lord knows that console gamers aren't gonna stop buying games at any price it seems.

Wii U games should cost the same as 360/PS3 games, at least until 720/PS4 games come along. Then again, some Wii U games were listed a while ago $50 on Amazon.
