What do you all think that is absolutely essential for the Wii U to succeed at launch and afterward?
I see these things as being the most crucial for the best launch possible:
-Have a major 1st party game at launch. Mario would be best for Nintendo sales wise. Hopefully Ninty really did learn its lesson with the 3DS' launch. A few good 3rd party games would be greatly appreciated as well.
-Have the eShop or whatever up Day 1. Waiting from March to June for the 3DS' is kind of ridiculous. The ability to transfer downloads from the Wii would be nice, but I'm not sure how it'd be done. This is why we need an account based system. Like what many wanted with the 3DS, tying downloads to your Club Nintendo account makes the most sense.
-Online. Online. Online. Having a really good online infrastrcuture is a great way for Ninty to draw on some of that PS360 crowd. Well, that ad a certain dudebro game series... I think it should be at least as good as what the PS3 offers. The 3DS' has the "Join Game" option and let's you see what you're friends are playing and such, which is good. Letting you invite friends who have the game to play with you is an addition I'd like to see as well.
-Lastly, the Wii U needs to launch with a pack-in game a la Wii Sports. When launching a console with an odd control setup, pack-in games allow you to see what the console can do easily. Wii Sports did that quite well I think. If they can create a game that emulates what that game did for Wii, they'll be printing more money soon. xD
