I'll never forgive myself. It was 2006, I was killing an hour at the local department store. Poking around the electronics department I came across a shrink wrapped double copy of Pikmin 2 and Donkey Konga 2 for $30. I picked it up and looked it over, but for some reason, unknown to me, I put it down, & I even have the bongos, what was I thinking?!

im pretty damn excited about this.. just, when i saw the scan, my skeptical side cant help but think "ITS A TRAP".. the scan just looks a little weird. has anyone gotten the may nintendo power yet?

they claim the updated textures but if they really did they did a horrible job

Now rerelease Metroid Prime Trilogy, Nintendo... >:/ j/k, it's nice to finally have this game coming, although I feel like I've seen everything I've wanted out of the GCN version already really. (For real though Nintendo, MP:T now! )

Why re-release it for $20 or $30 when they can charge $60 for an HD version?

Great, I waited 2 years for it to come out, then I finally broke down and paid 40 something dollars for the Gamecube version. It was used without the box or instructions, but luckily I had a friend who had the box and books but lost the game who sold it to me for $5. Oh well, I guess at least it's kind of a collectable. I'm not gonna buy the NPC one now though.

Do the Wii ports still have a standard controller option? And apart from Wiimote functionality and graphics, are there any other changes? I know Prime Trilogy removed some sequence breaking, so I was wondering if there are any changes in these NPC releases. I loved Pikmin 2 back in the day, but unfortunately my CD accidentally snapped. Might take this opportunity to pick it up once more.

Having never played Pikmin on the Gamecube, I am really happy Nintendo finally decided to release the second one for Wii. I bought the first one a while back and it was great and I hear the second one was even better.

This is an interesting strategy by Nintendo if you think about it. Release Pikmin 2 a bit before Pikmin 3 comes out to get new people into the series and excited for the new game.

I plan to get the NPC version. I have the others.
I just wish I had not traded the GC version for Star Fox Adventure.
(I paid $4 new at Sears on closeout. Used replacement cost me 10x as much).

Nintendo had no reason to hold this game, a frickin' Gamecube port, back for all of these years. The game is good, so if you haven't already played/owned it, try it out. There's no 30-day limit this time.

I do already have Pikmin 2 on GC, and the flea market near me is selling it for $85. But I'll still get NPC anyways, especially after the hassle I went through to get the first NPC game new for $30 6 months ago (who knew HMV still had one in stock somewhere in Northern Ontario?)

Honestly, this is one franchise I am more than willing to double dip with. Maybe it's cause GC was my first home console, maybe cause Pikmin was the first game I got, but something about those vicious little plants tug at my heartstrings every time.
