Big Red Flag!
Also, the game's title is kinda confusing...because it sounds like a tie-in with an existing Metroid game. But the supposed details we have completely contradict that.
Nothing about this rumor really makes sense to me.

B*llshit they're developing the Nintendo Newwork FYI, e.g. digital downloads of retail games, Wii U games such as Ghost Recon Online, Killer freaks From Outer Space and many other games already have on-line multiplayer, plus many other on-line features will be capable.luigi_owns wrote:- In consideration was the Star Fox portion having 4 player co-op online, but instead the game will have leaderboards for time and percent complete for all parts of the game and multiplayer will be simply versus mode based.
this makes me rage. assuming its true, nintendo has changed nothing with the wii u. how sad

I knew the Mario and Sonic games, Captain Rainbow (Mario, Zelda, Nintendo Wars, Punch Out, and others), Fortune Street (Mario/Dragon Quest), and Mario hoops 3 on 3/Mario Sports Mix (Mario/Final Fantasy plus a Slime) were insane delusions of mine, along with all those times Mario enemies and even Kirby showed up in Zelda games!

Samus: "Who are you guys?"
*Camera slowly pans over
Fox: "We're Star Fox"

Seriously though, this is a terrible idea and I hate it with all of my hate.

Jerome wrote:@KingBroly,
Not sure if your suggestion there was serious, but after Other M, do you really think Metroid needs to satirize itself any more?
At this point, I think a well-made 2.5D Metroid for either Wii U or 3DS, would be the best thing Nintendo could do. It could be all next-gen and shiny like Shadow Complex, which majorly rips off Super Metroid anyway.

KingBroly wrote:Adventures was bad not because of the look, but because Star Fox was tacked on. Not only that, it's quite frustrating near the end. The Button Mashing event from hell near the end...it took a year to do, and I had to have my roommate do it. Terrible.
And people sort of want a Paper Mario-esque Metroid, because it'd be a parody, and it'd be inherently hilarious. But for me, I wouldn't make it "Toon Metroid" but instead...Spoiler:
Mainly because the aesthetic has to add some kind of unique gameplay element to it, like Paper Mario and Kirby's Epic Yarn. A cartoon look wouldn't do that.

KingBroly wrote:Satire, when it's suppose to be satire, is usually quite good. That's why Paper Mario works. You know it's 4th wall breaking. It also uses paper as a proper gameplay mechanic that can be manipulated in various ways for enjoyment.
KingBroly wrote:Other M was not satire. It was a cruel joke perpetrated by a bunch of people who have no business making Metroid games.
KingBroly wrote:That is in part why something like this horrible rumor comes up. Because people don't believe Nintendo knows what to do with either of these franchises anymore, and haven't for a long time.
